A lovely sunny terrace and good service contributed to a great lunch that included an excellent soupe savoyarde, a tartiflette, a very tasty croque monsieur, and an awesome chocolate cake with creme anglaise. Reasonable prices. View all feedback.
What Arianne Gravel doesn't like about Refuge des Cretes:
Too bad! Yes in front of such a beautiful spectacle as nature offers us 360°. It is not even more than 2000m the level of the place and at the lowest, welcome, service, consumption and I did not take the risk of tasting a dish prepared on site, to see the two big dogs that go and come in the kitchen. Surpass the place and magical. A little respect for people who are not savoyards. the tourists it melts you live and t... View all feedback.
Nice enough little piste side restaurant. We enjoyed the tartiflette. Friendly staff. Would be a higher rating if it wasn’t for the single portaloo with a queue of 8 people to use it.
A nice restaurant in a pleasant environment under the massif of Mt Joly of Hauteluce. Excellent food, excellent staff. French cuisine.

Following a good morning of skiing, we decided to stop for lunch in this altitude chalet, which we had heard the praises the day before on TV. What was not our disappointment when we arrived in this place that we thought "hot."When we arrived, none of the 4 servers dealing with the terrace spoke to us, not even a hint (2 people standing in the middle of the terrace, it notices no?), after 5 minutes we decide to approach the entrance of the restaurant in order to be better spotable, the servers continue to compute us before us a couple attacked near us in vain try to recommend drinks and get satisfaction at the end of 3 requests to 3 different servers!Break, after 10 min I decide to interpellate a little more dryly a server that finally decides to place us at the same table as another couple (thereby large tables so complicated to install people intimidated), and there again the rengaine again, pretext: the water is not drinking but they do not deprive themselves of selling the bottle from 1l to 4€!Woefully and not of the least, what we ate was quite correct, a cute mushroom cream net (small flat: damage that for a dish to 17€ the purée accompanying it is purée in sachet :( ) and a croziflette as well as a blue pie. Small security point, for 2 hours that we stayed on the spot, no less than 6 people slipped and fell in the same place on the terrace, the least of the things would have been on the part of the servers to ask how they were going and elsewhere to make it happen again but it was the customers of the tables around that threw their muzzle to secure this area... Even if you are the only restaurant around, it does not prevent politeness, just a little smile and more friendliness would have taken the step on the wrong points mentioned above. Being from the region, we are used to eating in high-altitude restaurants during days in skiing and so far we have been rather satisfied and communicated it, today we are disappointed and make our discontent and that of the people around us who have not had the same patience and have left before being served.
The view is beautiful ok, but especially don't go to this restaurant, it has lots of other chalets that offer beautiful views! expensive dishes, a perished coca for 6 months has been served and cherry on the food poisoning cake due to their croziflette, in bed for 24 hours. especially to avoid!!!
