We can't speak to a winter experience, but spent a glorious afternoon on the terrace on the 14th of July. The charcuterie and cheese plates were delicious and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Great place to view the mesmerizing l'Aguille du Midi and Mont Blanc. We will be back next year. View all feedback.
What Cécile Joseph doesn't like about Prarion 1860 Hotel Restaurant:
everything here is overpriced, but above all food is simply not worth it. I felt robbed when I was asked to pay 20 euro for two pieces of cake and a juice. a cake is in the did 8 euro. it's not like you're sitting in a classic caffe where it's served on your table. for this price they will lift it themselves. They pay €20 for dog food. we had suppe and had to put it in the microwave to heat it up. worst experience in a very long time.
Piste dining at its absolute worst!! 3 option on the menu, past with tomato sauce, chicken with chips and a salmon apocolips. I've been lunching in the French alps for 25 years and without a shadow of a doubt tgis is the worst experience I've...ever had. Of you are going to limit your menu to 3 dishes, do them well. Clearly this is a case of prime position and gutter quality. I'm taking my business to Italy in future. What a sorry excuse for French cuisine. Poor poor poor.
As with probably most people, this seemed like a convenient place to have some lunch while skiing. I wish I could put up a sign warning people to avoid it! I had chips and 2 x sausages, a bread roll and a beer. My daughter...had chips, 1 x sausage, a yoghurt and a drink. This came to over 46€! I double checked it was correct. The other people dining with us had chips and a sausage, chips and a burger (literally a burger with nothing else and three drinks. That came to over 45€! Credit to two of the people working who were very cheery, but the girl on the checkout was miserably but can hardly blame her if she is putting up with shocked customers all day. The food was self service and very basic. Not terrible, but certainly nothing great. The venue is also pretty tired looking. I would expect to pay a premium for food on top of a mountain, but to put this in perspective, we ate at a similarly situated mountain restaurant in Chamonix the next day. It was a nicer place with equally good views of Mont Blanc. The food was much better (the burger even came in a bread roll with garnishings! . And it was literally less than half the price! I guess the Prarion are in for the quick buck, rather than repeat custom so if you read this review (or any of the others by the looks of it please be warned!
