Very disappointed by the completely burnt pizza underneath which according to the pizza maker is normal because it is cooked over a wood fire, burned black impossible to appreciate the taste of the topping, if it was just that... the paw is not cooked completely elastic and white between the burnt side and the topping very poorly received by bringing back a few slices of pizza to show that it is totally disgusting reimbursed with a 10 euro note believers buy me with money. I really don't recommend this pizzeria.

When you speak English ,sometimes , in deep France it is difficult to find a place where your language is understood . If , in addition you are hungry this can become a real problem. Well, here is my experience in Saint Germain du Plain at the “restaurant L'Escale” went particularly well. First the boss who prepares and cooked over a wood fire succulent pizzas and his wife who provides the service ,speak both English. In addition they are friendly, have good draught bottled beers. Regarding the food I was tempted for my first visit by a 100% homemade pizza. I chose with some apprehension “L'Escale Pizza”: with Burgundy snails! For this first experience. it was excellent, tasty and very rich. During my second visit I took a “FORESTIER” rib steak (with a lot of various mushrooms and a cream sauce): a treat! Unfortunately I do not think I can return to this establishment before 6 months for professional reasons. But it is sure as soon as I have the opportunity to come back, I will do it with great pleasure.
Saturday lunch time n France. All we wanted was a beer and something to eat not too much to ask! Wekdays no problem, but Saturdays a problem. After an hour of going from place to place, we came across this little gem. The entrance is the takeaway zone, wit an open wood fired pizza oven. We were shown through into the dining room, and were immediately served with a glass of delicious a la pression beer. The menu was basically pizza/ pasta, but other items were available, but more limited choice. The service was quick, and the food delicious. The patron andhis wife both speak good english, and the establishment is spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.
