Had lunch for three on the day of the St. Fargeau fete. The steak needed no starter or dessert and was cooked as ordered. The other two had starter and main course of the day which were well served and well cooked. No room for dessert. Enjoyable experience at reasonable price View all feedback.

Very very disappointing. Location is so wonderful (in front of the castle) but quality is not here. Faults really vary, from poor service to cold fries. You can get there and have average meal but try another place instead (Mezilles if you want a nice place for instance) View all feedback.
Lukewarm almost inedible food after a 2 hour wait. What a way to spoil a beautiful evening... The kitchen unable to cope with crowds or groups. No service for 1 hour without explanation.... eventually... The big group was complaining . Definitely one to avoid unless you specialise in small portions of overcooked and tepid food.....Friendly service, but lacking organisation, culinary basics and communication. Otherwise stick to the kids menu..... it looked much more tasty.
Wasnt bad, but could have been better. Made a bad choice for a main course. My translation of veal ended up with a plate of kidney! Not ideal. Cant really fault the service though. Pleasant and prompt.

We were visiting the castle and decided to have lunch first and came across L'Opera. It looked lovely and had a great view of the castle so we sat outside in the sun. We were ignored for a long time and we eventually asked for menus. We were told that they only had a few menus and that they were all being used so we would have to wait. So we waited. And waited. We were not offered drinks or bread or anything while we waited. Eventually the menus came. And then we waited. And waited. We had to ask for them to take our order as they ignored us. Had to ask for bread three times. You get the idea. Fortunately we had plenty of time as we were on holiday and not in a hurry, but the whole meal took twice as long as it should have. Every request was met with a grumpy face as if we were asking for the impossible. The waitress was surly, unsmiling and absolutely miserable. She was really unhelpful. The food was mediocre at best. Our daughter had the children's menu and they forgot her first course (we simply didn't have the heart to complain by this point). My son's steak was so tough as to be inedible. My husband's steak was average and my salad was OK. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant because of its distinctly average food and abysmal and appalling service. The waitress really spoiled what could have been a pleasant enough meal sitting outside in the sun. We ended up bonding with another table of customers over the fact that the waitress was so rude. We all agreed that she really was very bad. Do not go there!
Unplanned and un reviewed we found this place next to the chateau, unfortunately with no internet signal to assess the Tripadvisor ratings. The decor is vibrant and enticing. The small upstairs space is very genial, c=downstairs I believe is a place for entertainment big and light. The food was well below average and overpriced. We cancelled desert and coffee. Some more French rehired by myself to comprehend the French reviews but Im told by a reliable source (a local French person) it is well rated at number 4 in this town. In fact I think its better to dive on if this is the only place you can get a table. If you love good decor, and are not fussed about below average food, this is the place for you.
