What Caroline Dias doesn't like about La Raclette de Valbenoite:
Un restaurant très chic , avec une imitation chalet remarquable et deux jolis aquarium , quelques hic malgres tout : il y fait très chaud et les prix sont assez élevés ... Les plats sont très bien fournies , a faire si on est adepte des bon plats a base de fromage a raclette ! View all feedback.
This restaurant whose official name is Le Petit Savoyard appears in Trip Advisor as La Raclette de Valbenoîte. The former cook bought the restaurant Le Petit Savoyard at the end of 2014 and is now the owner and also the person who is taking care of the card and piloting the current cook. The dishes are excellent, and the quality ratio is also quite excellent. Attention all previous opinions are all related to the old direction, while since management has changed but also the map and especially business practices. The current owner is very convenient, for example tonight she missed foie gras for the menu at 25 Euros, and she deleted this menu, but when I asked to take the main dish from the menu at 25 €, she integrated it into another menu to allow me to take the dish I wanted. In short, the service is very well, the staff is smiling, and in addition the food is good and well cooked... So in my sense, before you stop on the old reviews, it is important to pass here and lunch or dinner to make your own opinion. Mine is that the restaurant deserves the detour and more on the valbenoite square with the fountain in front it's just perfect even, see especially in summer. Even in the summer, there is a map perfectly suitable for pleasant meals when it can make a little warm outside ... there are very good salads to eat, I recommend the gascogne salad that is just perfect ....
First of all, it is no longer the restaurant La Raclette but the Petit Savoyard. We were a group of 14 people, so I called the day before to book. The welcome is of the most mixed, we are obliged to ask to order an aperitif, we were installed at our table with the menus without asking anything else for 15 minutes, a little medium knowing that there were few customers at that moment... We all took group dishes: raclettes, fondue savoyarde and fondue bourguignonne. Nothing to say about the abundance of cheese and charcuterie for raclette. Only the taste of cheese, sanitized, left to desired. Even the cheese enters from my good old Casino to more taste... For burgundy fondue, meat is of quality, fries in quantity. Where the bottom hurts is the amount of meat... Indeed, on the menu is announced 200g of meat for 19,90€ per person. My friends were 3 having taken that dish. Unfortunately when the meat came, there was to be a maximum of 300g of meat... So they asked for beef again, and the waitress told us that meat was not in unlimited quantity but that it was going to make an exception. She was reappeared 5min later with as much meat as the first time, but how not to think that we tried to snatch us To end, my savoyard fondue. I'm a fan of this dish, I could almost eat it every day... Anyway I chose this dish with a savoyard friend but what disappointment we had! The taste was really not at the rendezvous, to ask if there were only white wine, garlic or even beaufort... The must remains the bread served for this fondue: precooked bread found in any large surface. They would at least be able to make the effort to serve us bakery bread, especially with a table to 14 book the day before and another large table reserved for longer, apparently... I pass the details on the non-cleanness of the tablecloths, not the skills of the waitress (who do not even offer wine to accompany our dishes). Basically, I recommend this restaurant that has a lot to change.
The fondue was very good but for the price, a little salad or a little charcuterie would be welcome. IL had to demand bread and water several times. The rate is not related to the dish served or the quality of the service. We won't go back.
A very chic restaurant, with an imitation remarkable chalet and two pretty aquariums, a few malgree hic everything: it is very hot and prices are pretty high ... The dishes are very well provided, to do if you are a fan of good dishes based on raclette cheese!
I went to this restaurant because it was open Sunday night and I think I'd go back. We ate a raclette and it's always a good time. What surprises is the mix of genres. In a part of the restaurant we'd believe in the mountain and it's great. But right next to you, we play a big screen game in a bar atmosphere. There is a waterfall and a giant aquarium... I invite you to go and make your opinion on this strange mixture but in the end not unpleasant.
