What Mark M doesn't like about Kyoto:
Picture a tiny but pretty restaurant where we are served by a friendly owner, where we each struggle cheerfully through the ordering process with our bad french, and the owner gives us free sake at the end because we give him a good tip. It was a good dinner, and we didn't regret our choice. But were we a bit naive to think that a little Japanese resto off the beaten path in Saint Etienne would have a wide and deep s... Wonderful restaurant! We loved our sumptuous Osushi menus that made us discover lots of flavors. Charming welcome, and the setting is very nice. Anyway, you can go with your eyes closed! All sauces (homemade! are absolutely delicious. For dessert, I recommend ginger confit, a treat.
I heard a lot of good from this restaurant, and that's why I wanted to come and taste with friends. In the entrance, the Japanese salad was good (but basic). The sushi and makis were good. The miso soup was good too, but a little fade. The dessert, a single small ice ball was included in the menu, which is, given the price, a little abused. In addition, the waiting was extremely long. We waited 30 minutes before we got our entrance salad. Then almost 1 hour between salad and sushi. We ate properly, it was good, but we weren't satisfied, and SURTOUT is too CHER for what it is. The value/price/price ratio and service is really not good. We're not coming back.
No doubt it’s really my favorite restaurant! Every time I come here it is a real pleasure and time of travel around a refined high quality cuisine with fresh products. Everything is absolutely delicious! If I have a very nice address to remember and advise Saint Étienne it is really this one. All people working here are great and very kind. Thanks again for everything, very soon
A small Japanese restaurant in the centre of St. Etienne held by a Japanese couple. Very good cuisine, ambience and tranquility. We had a nice time.
Pass the door of this restaurant and immediately you will feel like you are in Japan in a typical restaurant of this wonderful country. The atmosphere is Zen, the perfect decoration and the very pleasant and warm welcome. The best Japanese restaurant and in addition, it is in Saint Étienne!
