Lovely atmosphere overlooking a nice square. So provincial French! A must try. This is also a delicatessen and wine bar. Fresh pasta made in site and
We’d seen this place during the day, so decided to see if we could get a table. They managed to squeeze us in, and by 8 o’clock there wasn’t an empty table to be seen. The food was fantastic, a really simple Italian menu focusing on classics, all done really well. The home made gelato and sorbet selection is worth visiting for at any time of day. The service was exceptional.
The restaurant sits along the lovely Place Jean Jaures. Husband and I sat inside in air-conditioned comfort and chose from a small selection of antipasti, salads and pastas. They offer a nice selection of Italian and French wines by the bottle or glass. Salads were fresh and well-dressed. Pasta portions were so generous we couldn't finish them. They tasted house-made and were cooked perfectly, though a tad on the heavy side. We didn't order antipasto but enjoyed watching the counter man custom cutting meats for an antipasto platter using a hand-cranked slicing machine. We ended our meal with coffee and a complimentary glass of Limoncello.
