While wondering round in St Emilion we (4 of us plus small dog) decided we’d look for somewhere to eat. After being met with a few “do you have a reservation? as we’re full”, we stumbled across La Table 38. We were welcomed with a smile and fantastic service! Do not be fooled by its plain appearance, it is a veritable powerhouse of flavours! We had the Lamb, the Duck, the Steak and Vegetarian dishes, as well as a couple of the starters and we were well impressed! The chef is not afraid of packing a flavour punch in each dish. The desserts were all also a hit, especially the fake lemon! Should we ever be back in the area, this will be our first stop! Careful and original dishes. Tips for pairing wine. Pleasant room, few tables so it's almost intimate. Service with good timing but we felt a little pressure. Bad day? Incorrect addition with an extra coffee but we will say that it was the little extra.
