For my part, I took the cancalaise: mushroom cake, egg, emmental and sausage followed by a very gourmet coffee. I recommend for the kitchen. The service is fast. More smiles and conviviality would have been perfect.

There are 4 restaurants on the ground floor of the block of flats and the Caravel is the best by a country mile. We hadn't booked but we managed to get a table for 2 inside adjacent to the bar. The Menu is short but adequate. We both had a dozen crevettes as a starter followed by a fish main course (red mullet was one can't recall the other) and a dessert and a coffee. All of which, including a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, came to Euro 79.50 ex tip. Both main courses were very good, presented well, and tasted brilliant. Despite our lack of French and their lack of English service was acceptable.

Whilst the menu is small, 5 or 6 main courses to choose from, what was served was very good, freshly prepared and well presented. The dining area looked spotlessly clean and despite the front of house speaking very little English and us speaking very little French we got what we ordered. For me the star was the dessert, some form of cappuccino style dessert served in a glass very yummy indeed. We look forward to returning to the restaurant soon.

We were 18 with kids and all went well. Because it’s nearly full in summer, don’t come if you are in a hurry. Come, relax and enjoy.
