What Michael Pescador doesn't like about Smashburger:
Had a 2HR layover at SCJ and walked the terminal to see what food spots they have. Coming from Hawaii I wasn't feeling the whole Trader Vic spot. The ramen spot had bad ratings, so Smash Burger it was.One thing I didn't like was there wasn't a combo meal(at least at SCJ). I bought the specialty truffle mushroom burger, garlic tots and drink. Food is fine but takes 25-30 minutes to receive order
I am glad this place is there. I grabbed a burger here after my flight was delayed. The staff were nice and helpful.
I had the swiss cheese and mushrooms option. Might be a good choice if you like minuscule, overcooked and dry burgers. Definitely not my first choice.
So slow. And no buzzer so people can order and return later. Literally I think there is one person making one burger at a time. It’s an airport- speed is important!!
