Classic staple when you go to a mall. This place is consistently good and the portions are huge for the value. The line is usually always long so I would suggest ordering online and picking it up if you're not in the mood to stand and wait. The only thing I don't really like is the sides (tempura, egg rolls, etc. but otherwise, love coming here! View all feedback.
What Calvin T doesn't like about Sarku Japan:
I got Sarku, and my friend got Koja. For roughly the same price she gets a symphony of color and food, and I get salty beef, bland steamed vegetables, okay gyoza, and disappointing California rolls. Was filling though and despite the long line, the food came out quick. Go to Koja though. Get the braised pork bowl. Amazing salad, flavorful tender meat, a nice sauce that goes well with the rice, and fluffy Japanese ric... View all feedback.

This place is easily my top five food places i've ever had. and i've had a s ton of food. from all over the world. i don't know what it is about the number 1 (chicken and sub rice for noodles), but it single-handedly gives me a reason to live. genuinely, it is so good. if ur a s for teriyaki sauce you'll love it here. wish i could give all those chefs kisses on their cheeks, food so good
I came here 05/10/22 @5:30/6pm. The review is for the Asian cashier, perhaps Chinese from his accent. I don't eat here often. Last time was probably 5 yrs ago. I wanted a bento box with chicken and shrimp. When I ordered, I just said chicken and shrimp. My fault so that became a combo. When I approached the first guy that prep the food, I realized my mistake. I let this family just ordered after me cut in front of me and I asked the cashier guy to change it to bento and I want chicken and shrimp the same. He quickly punched in his screen and charged me $0.61 extra and I happily paid for it. My receipt landed on a sea of receipts in front that he didn't bother clean up. He was pushing everything so fast, switching boxes and signaling things. The family I let cut in front got my shrimp and chicken combo. But I got my bento box with chicken only. Again, I came back around to the cashier and said I wanted chicken and shrimp bento . He snapped right away and argued loudly with hand gestures pointing at the menu above him said I wanted chicken bento. I told him I said I wanted chicken and shrimp but change to bento. He then said there's no chicken and shrimp bento! I said yes, add the shrimp pointed to the menu. Then he snapped again said add shrimp extra! Then I said, yes! Add me some shrimp and charge me. He finally got it. Maybe he thought I wanted FREE shrimps or if I would steal all that's left from his ancestors or something. I handed him the card. The bigger man in white came out and calmly added me some shrimp. Good help is hard to find. As a cashier's job, the first time I came back to ask to change it to bento, he could've already said, add shrimp is extra if that's ok and up sale instead of assuming I wanted free shrimps and all of that could've been avoided. And same as previous reviewer said. I put the whole chunk of wasabi and spitted out bc it looked the same and blended in with the veggies.

I got the chicken bento box which came out to be a little over $12. It with came with chicken, rice, 4 sushis, 3 dumplings, and a lot of vegetables. They gave a decent amount of chicken, and the sushis were not bad. However the vegetables and dumplings were pretty bad, especially the vegetables. The vegetables were ridiculously unfresh and smelled awful. Almost half of the bento box consisted of the vegetables, so I basically had to throw away half of the meal. The chicken, rice, and sushi were pretty good though, so I did not complain that much about it at the time. However, I wouldn't even be writing this review if the following did not happen. I was a bit thirsty after I threw away my food, so I decided to go back to the booth to ask for a water cup. Most of the workers were on their phones or conversing with themselves by the time I got there. When I asked them for a water cup, the cashier (light skinned asian guy with round glasses) rudely responded that they were closed, shooed me away, and then went back on his phone. I felt really insulted because I just bought food from them 5 minutes before, and they denied me a water cup just because they were tired and preparing to close the shop. I had to go to the store next to them to ask for a water cup. The worker in the other shop was very nice about it and gave me a water cup with ice. He was also preparing to close his shop like the Sakura Japan workers. So until Sakura Japan workers change their attitudes toward their customers, my friends and I will be dining elsewhere whenever we come back to the food court. Sakura Japan workers need to act less arrogant and treat their customers respectfully.
