The Dock House - SAG HARBOR

The seafood on display in the refrigerator case looked very fresh. The view of the harbor can only be matched if you had a boat tied up at the dock at Sag Harbor. The clam chowders were good with a slight nod going to the New England preparation. Thefried flounder was served on a bun. The portions are generous and the prices are not bad, considering this is the Hamptons. Ihave one suggestion: abandon the 3.5 per cent surcharge on credit cards and go over to a cash -only policy if the charges thatcredit -card companies impose are too onerous. One suspects that a seafood shack on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor does a prettygood business so the surcharge is an annoyance. At least the young man at the counter informed every customer of the surchargebeforehand, although that didn't help me because I wasn't carrying sufficient cash to cover my check. This is a seafood shack,not a formal dining venue like the place next door. They appear to do a good takeout business

Nice location. Average quality of the food (not the best, not the worst) I ordered the fish tacos and the fish was pretty blend . The chicken sandwich on the other hand was very good. Prices are reasonable for the location.

Really fresh fish platters and sandwiches. The baguette they use for the sandwiches is excellent. I usually get the fried flounder and am never disappointed.

Lobster was average in general but above average value in overpriced Hamptons. No liquor license and not allowed to BYOB. BYOB would have earned them another star.

Tiny place with big character and flavor. Staff could have been more friendly. Order your meal, then find a seat. Choose between a few inside or a couple outside. By the water so we enjoyed it. Two of us had lobster rolls w/ chips and one had swordfish sandwich with waffle fries.
