The Cricketers - Saffron Walden

We had an excellent experience at this restaurant! The service was outstanding, with staff that were both warm and friendly. The dining area was very comfortable and clean, and the food, wine, and beers were all great. What more could we ask for? Well, we were truly impressed when my partner requested a bottle of Rosé Prosecco. Although the staff informed her that they didn’t have it, the manager personally came to our table to apologize for the oversight. He offered us a bottle of English sparkling rosé as a substitute, and to our surprise, it was provided at no extra charge. This is a perfect example of exceptional customer service—they truly went above and beyond. Will we return? Absolutely! A big thank you to the staff and management for being so welcoming and for making our visit memorable for all the right reasons.

Lovely atmosphere inside, nice autumnal feeling to it. Staff very nice and efficient. Food very good. It was expensive, but it was especially good. When I made the booking I did note (when prompted) that the reason for our sitting was mu daughter's 18th birthday, but that wasn't acknowledged not a huge deal for us, but I thought it worth mentioning; best to remove the option to enter the occasion perhaps? I haven't been to the Cricketers for years, but it's firmly back on my radar and I'll be back next time we want something special. I'd rather do yours less frequently than others more often.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The only feedback I have is that it is a shame that there were paint chips on doors etc and that the quit feathers were all bunched up. I would suggest that the quilt is replaced. Hotel highlights: Quiet

Wonderful greeting when we arrived...we had booked a room for the night and arranged for our friends to join us for a Sunday Lunch to celebrate my birthday so a very lovely table for 10 was laid out for us...my only complaint about the food was i thought the beef was a little tough...and struggled to cut it...but apparently the pork and the chicken was a hit....it was a very friendly atmosphere there...great local people were very chatty and welcoming....and so lovely to receive a complimentary glass of bubbles from the bar.... Our room was lovely very nicely decorated..relaxing..just a tad too hot for us..tried to turn off rad in bathroom..but it stayed extremely hot throughout the night......breakfast was nice. ... ...we will definitely return to the Cricketers..i had a brilliant birthday..Thank You All x

Stayed here for a family wedding at Parklands. Such a lovely pub, very friendly and welcoming with a gorgeous fire. The accommodation was very nice and comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. Highly recommend. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Great value
