From the moment we arrived at the restaurant until we left, the entire staff went above and beyond to make our evening special. The host, bartender, and server, Gerald, helped us celebrate our anniversary. The service at the bar and at our table was excellent. My 16oz. ribeye was the best piece of beef I've had in years, and my wife's 16oz. NY strip was also fantastic. The sautéed spinach and bread pudding were both... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ruth Chris 83 W. Spring:
The service at this restaurant was lacking. We had to request cutlery and bread, which wasn't offered initially. There were options like cowboy ribeye steaks and various desserts on the menu. However, despite ordering my steak cooked medium, it arrived rare and the portion size was lacking. Due to the poor service, I will not be returning to Ruth's Chris for another visit. So happy a Ruth’s Chris is in my area now! Been several times and truly enjoyed each dining experience. Food is on point as usual for the fine dining experience of Ruth’s Chris. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside! Also attended a few of their wine dinners!!
Having both worked for Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Jupiter, Florida, and visited many others for dinner, my bar was held high prior to visiting this location for my birthday in July. Upon entering the restaurant, my partner and I were immediately greeted with a warm reception and seated promptly in the bar/lounge area of the restaurant. I found the decor classy, upscale, and modern. Shortly after, the experience went downhill from there. Our server was professional, warm, but lacking the upscale server experience that I've always encountered at Ruth's Chris. Our wait time from being seated to being served our drinks was a bit lengthy considering the bar area was only about 20 to 30 percent capacity. I ordered an ice tea and when our meals were delivered, ordered a glass of wine. That glass of wine took a long 15 minutes to be delivered. Our appetizer, the spicy shrimp, was delicious, and portion size, perfect for two. We also ordered the chop salad to share and found the portion size on the smaller side from what I remembered, and although very good, was not as delicious as I remembered it being from my past experiences at other locations. For our entrees, we ordered the filet and ribeye. The filet was cooked perfectly and flavor and tenderness were out of this world. My ribeye was overcooked, however, and when the manager saw what was supposed to be medium-rare, actually well done, he immediately retrieved it, and within minutes, I had a perfectly cooked ribeye at my table. This steak, however, was missing the savoury and so important, char on the exterior. Flavor and tenderness were both excellent. Ribeye is my favorite steak due to the hight amount of marbelized, succulent fat throughout. Love the flavor it gives to the steak. This steak, however, had a few large tendony, grizzly sections that I've not experienced before with a Ribeye at a Ruth's Chris and had to be cut around. We also ordered the potatoes Au gratin for our side, and that was disappointingly underseasoned and flavourless. Worse yet, it was so dry. The potatoes were dry and pasty, so quite possibly absorbed much of the moisture from what was supposed to be a creamy gratin sauce. I always order the potatoes augratin when I eat at Ruth's Chris, and they are always creamy, rich, perfectly seasoned and topped with a good portion of cheddar cheese. Not the case this time. We didn't order dessert because at this point, just wanted to head out and end the experience. I understand every establishment, employee, etc, is entitled to a bad day, however, for the money we spent, the hour-plus drive to the restaurant, and the fact that it was my birthday, I was really hoping for a better experience.
We were reeted nicely and promptly shown to a table. Service was good until appetizers arrived. The expected hot and crispy Fried calamari arrived drenched in a chilled spicy sauce. On arrival it was cold and soggy on the plate. I ordered a plain filet mignon requesting no salt pepper or butter medium rare. The steak arrived sitting in a quarter inch of bubbling liquid/butter seasoned profusely with salt pepper and parsley. I brought the situation to the waiters attention but not wanting to waste food I requested just a clean plate. The plate arrived promptly, 10,000 degrees. As I sliced my steak the slices cooked from medium rare to well done on the plate. Potatoes au gratin were a watery disappointment. One of the managers checking on the tables stopped by. I brought the items above to his attention. He apologized and made us aware the restaurant is part of a chain and as an apology he comped a glass of wine. For the next twenty five minutes no one attended our table in a half empty restaurant. As the bus boy went by I requested some water and also could we have our dessert. The water was served but we waited another fifteen minutes without any sight of wait staff. At which time I went in search of staff/manager and asked a bus boy if the manager could visit the table. As I arrived back at the table the dessert was delivered. It must have been fifteen minutes later when I was signing the check the senior manager arrived. I explained the above situation and remarking that I wasn’t looking for a reduction in the check but felt that it was important for management to understand the errors with the communication between the waiter and the kitchen as well As the lack of attentiveness We overheard the adjacent diners complaining of over cooked steak and incorrect orders to the extent that we shared our war stories The senior manager returned with the charge receipt and offered as an apology a seventy five dollar gift card. I have no intent in revisiting or positively recommending this location of the chain. All in all a very poor show.
After graduation festivities, this is were the graduate wanted to eat. This location is newer, so everything was top notch inside. Staff was super nice, Mgr came over for congratulating. our waiter, I think was new, nervous or both. He's one of those who was always trying to be funny, or witty, not up to date on all the menu items, dropping his tag multiple times. He was nice and will still go back if in the area. The food was wonderful, from the calamari to the steaks. The sides had to go back due to being cold. All in all. great overall dining experience.
