Located in Lyon Village. Went with a friend who wanted sushi. I don't like sushi so had the teriyaki chicken with rice a la' carte which is a smaller portion. Perfect size for me. We split a tempura shrimp. View all feedback.
What Bryan Lincoln doesn't like about Miyagi Sushi:
Every time I go. Even with a reservation it's packed. And I'm not seated. I was a few minutes late today, with a 6pm reservation and they gave my reservation away. Told me the wait was 45 minutes for a table so we went to red lobster. I've been trying to take my wife on a date here for 3 months, 3 attempts now and finally gave up. The old white people who frequent this place as customers treat it like a gang hangout.... View all feedback.
To have any service provided we had to literally call/ask the water boy to call the waiter. We also arrived with a baby and the highchair given to us was covered in food from the last time it was used. We had to ask them if they could clean it like it was a foreign concept.
I went in to dine on 3/5/2023 with my teenage daughter and 2 younger children. The place was packed, we weren’t greeted when we entered, I had to flag the busser down to locate the host. The host walked around the crowded restaurant and said it will be about 10 minutes. We agreed to wait, I stood inside holding my 2 year. I sat my 2 year old at the sushi bar to adjust his clothes. And the busser came promptly to me stating that she has not clean that particular area, almost implying that I couldn’t sit there. It told her it was fine as I was just adjusting my sons clothes. She said oh ok and walked away. I continued to wait and another family of 4 walked in (white family, teenage kids), they politely asked me if I had been seen I let them know I was waiting to be seated. They had to wait to be approached or greeted as well since no one was at the door. however the same busser Hazel came out brushed past me and said “for 4” to the family and promptly seated them. At the same time this was happening the host came back to seat us and as she walked us to the opposite side she proceeded to state our table wasn’t ready and we could not be seat bc the server had a larger order to take. I brought up the fact that the other party of 4 came in and was seated promptly. To which she said they must have had reservations yet they did not give there name or any other information when they walked in. At this point I’m instantly upset, and decided that I don’t want to be served at an establishment in which the staff does not want to serve me. I bring my kids to the car and go back in to collect their names, and which point the host attempts to say they table is ready and that there was just and misunderstanding. I don’t like to scream racism but the fact that im black, hazel is a young white girl, and the family that came after us was white tells me a lot.
Came here on a weeknight for family dinner. Despite not being crowded, seating and table service was slow. Fortunately, we sat at the sushi bar, and the itamae was pleasant, quick, and attentive. Sushi was excellent. Cocktail was tasty.
Cool place. My wife and I like sitting at the bar or in the bar area. It’s a bit more fun environment. Bartenders are great. The sushi is quite good. We started with the Gyoza which are really good. Love the BBQ tuna. We got three rolls, I don’t remember what they are called, but they were tasty. Always an enjoyable time and meal.
