I had the grilled cheese with speck, which was good and the French fries where thick and tasty. last stop to eat and enjoy a break on our big bike tour from the southside park on the 6th street. return, good customer service, not long wait and they stayed several minutes or so later than 9 o'clock open. so that we could all eat. also insecure they appreciate the large group of customers. What User doesn't like about Village Drive-in:
I ended up at this restaurant in the evening because my wife wanted to try it out. It seemed to be popular, as there were several people coming in while we were there. When we were deciding what to order, an elderly lady came in to pick up her order and the staff greeted her warmly, suggesting she was a regular customer. The standard consensus seems to be, 'a little pricey ', I concur. I had the DOUBLE BURGER, FRIES DRINK MEAL at $17.18 or 3 gallons of gas at today 's prices. Everything seems to be FRESH, the freshly ground Angus beef, the lettuce, tomato, onion pickle all had that FRESH, CRISP TASTE! The beef was not that tasty... I believe it is fresh Angus, just did not have much flavor to it. The fries are plentiful, FRESH and THICK they have that potato taste with just a tad too much salt. Not enough to drive you away, but, enough to make you aware. They were very tasty both well done and crispy as well as medium, tender and juicy, perfect combination for fries. 'No coke, just Pepsi ' so I enjoyed a Dr.Pepper. When driving by one would not think, 'Hey, that place looks nice, let 's go there ' as I have driven by HUNDREDS OF TIMES and never stopped. I did stop today as I saw the rating/review at 4.5! THAT I WILL ASSUME is why everyone stops in either the reviews OR... just out of curiosity. ANYWAY... My rating of 4.0 is a result of the $17.18 price tag and the urge was lacking that BEEF FLAVOR. BOTTOMLINE:... The burger, fries and Dr. Pepper were NOT worth $17.18! I will probably not go back, I was actually thinking about going to Carl 's Jr. for my double burger and went to the VILLAGE DRIVE-IN as a result of the reviews. Enjoy your meal and... BE$T TO YOU!
If you're in need of a quick meal and craving a delicious burger, then this is the place for you! I make the trek all the way from North Highlands just to enjoy their food. I highly recommend it!
This drive-in burger joint serves high-quality, classic burgers. Since everything is cooked to order, be prepared for a potentially longer wait and higher prices. In my opinion, the burger patties were slightly overcooked.

However, I was not impressed and don't think I'll be returning. The decor is outdated, the prices are high for what you get, and they even charged extra for ranch dressing. If you're looking for a simple meal without caring too much about cost, this place might be worth a try.
The root beer shake at this restaurant is so addicting, it's like heroin. But their burgers and chicken nuggets are also delicious.
