Oba Japanese Kitchen - Sacramento

My friends and I were staying in midtown Sacramento and went to Oba for a nearby dinner. We ordered sushi/sashimi and salmon teriyaki. The restaurant did a good job with both the sushi and the cooked food. We also enjoyed some draft Sapporo and sake. The interior is simple but comfortable. Perfect for a good, relaxed dinner at the end of a day of site seeing.

Absolutely delicious! The best Ramen in Sacramento.. every thing was very fresh and the staff is very friendly. 10/10

I’ve gone here a handful of times, and each time, I order the same thing. The problem is every time my order is brought out, it’s made differently. Sometimes there’s broth, other times there isn’t. Too much seasoning and other days, not enough. The noodles are usually over cooked but today, they just…melted in my mouth. The food is awfully inconsistent. I never know how my food is going to come out. Very disappointing.

They have great food, but service is spotty. Also the owner limits some things and forces mandatory tipping for 6 or more at the table. Also no included cucumber appetizer from 3 to 5 pm why???!! But you can order some but it 's kind of expensive for a little dish of pickled cucumbers!)Food: 5/5

Very good but there are times where it can be better. My waiters have been very nice and helpful when providing allergy friendly foods or accommodations to us. Great option but personally unsatisfactory on taste.Food: 4/5
