The place was very cute. I like the design in the decor of the restaurant not crazy about having to scan something for a menu their chocolate milk was amazing their biscuits were very moist not dry I believe they're a butter and lard mixture with those biscuits I thought the place was very cute reminded me of a place near the beach which would have made this place that much better if it was did have to wait for table... What Laura Schlager doesn't like about Bacon and Butter:
don't go to her cheat day here! unless they get a hell of a place. had a great caffe like this hunted for a continued, but unfortunately I was on a adjusted meal plan (date) and had to voluntarily reduce my calorie intake. went anyway! my wife made me do it. she had the grilled cheese benny, it looked good. she ate it twice. once in the restaurant and then again in my (our) home. really it's an airbnb that we don't o... Was in an unfamiliar area and this place caught my eye as a good place to try for brunch. It was late morning on a Sunday, so I knew there may be a wait. But wasnt expecting to hear a 90 min wait. We decided to order some mimosas while we waited. Just ordering those was a bit of an ordeal. There seemed to be quite a bit of confusion behind the counter between people picking up to-go orders and people wanting to place orders. That part wasn't great, but not horrible either. We got thru half our carafe of mimosas when our name was called, which ended up being a tad less than an hour. That was a relief, as we were hungry. Our server, Kristine, quickly attended to us soon after sitting and it wasn't long after that we had some glasses of water too. She did a fantastic job attending to us throughout our meal. Now the food. I ordered a Waffle with eggs (over easy) and sausage. Everything was cooked well. The Waffle was just ok though. Didn't taste much different than an Eggo Waffle. Which isn't horrible, but I expect a little more when eating out. It was topped with fruit which was a nice touch. My date ordered a bacon melt with Country potatoes, and that was pretty good. I wasn't a fan of the potatoes, they were cut into very large pieces. But that's a personal choice. In regards to price, I'd say it was fairly reasonable. So why only 3 stars? Considering the wait, the food wasn't worth that wait. It was decent, but not good enough for that kind of wait. I've had much better brunches elsewhere.
I ordered ahead and picked up my items to go and I was glad I did. There were customers lined up outside waiting to get in and the restaurant was at capacity. I walked in and grabbed my order, which was ready, except for the 2 brewed coffees that the hostess filled up while I waited and then I headed to my car. The pear and pecan French toast was definitely worth all of the work to get it. I forgot to mention parking isn't easy with the crowds. I parked behind the restaurant on a neighborhood street and walked up to get my order. But, yes, the pear and pecan French toast was worth every bite. Even to-go, it was still hot and fresh. All of the toppings are served on the side in nice, little containers. It's easy to assemble to enjoy as a whole dish. I imagine this French toast right-out-of-the-kitchen to your table must be outstanding! That's if you can get a table. I ordered the chicken and waffle too. It was good. No complaints, but since I don't live in town and I'm not sure I'll be back in East Sac, I'm stoked I tried the pear and pecan French toast.
Waiting was quite fast for a busy Saturday. the ordered food was super fast. good selection cider and mimosas. eating was great some really good portions large.
Really enjoyed our breakfast here. They said it would be an hour wait by only ended up being 35 minutes on a Sunday morning. Atmosphere was very nice and the waitress that we had was very friendly. I will be back when I visit Sacramento again.
Thank you fellow yelpers for recommending this place!! LoVE LoVE this place!! Everything was amazing!! My party ordered their French toast, 3 choice (bacon, country potato, and gravy), and egg Benedict; it was delicious. Did I mention that this is a Michelin guide restaurant; enough said. Expect some lines but trust me it's worth the wait. Top notch customer service and did I mention their delicious mouth watering food?? THIS IS MY MUST STOP when I am visit Sacramento. Highly recommended!!!
