We decided to lunch at the bistro, on a warm early summer sunny day with a great breeze. The terrace is perfectly shaded and as such was the best choice. The menu du jour was a choice of a pea gazpacho and beef carpaccio we had both excellent! The mains were a choice of pintade or paella again both sublime. The food, the wine choices and the service was all excellent. Definitely great value View all feedback.
What Dario B doesn't like about Bistro De Montcaud:
Chosen the bistro over the restaurant because, we were told, the cuisine is basically similar but the service more informal, as we were travelling with children. The menu is somewhat short, children option scarse, actual food amount on plates on the small end of the scale. Pro house, charming and efficient service. perfect egg and octopus in very successful entries. lotte, chorizo, asparagus make a really nice dish with however emulation too close to that of the egg served in the entrance. delicious dessert with tatin and ice. Only two roses on the map, it's summer. Even if these are two beautiful houses!
We ate there in love on Friday evening, reception and service were very pleasant; the card really comes and the chosen menus were divine. Moreover, the place is beautiful. short we recommend and return with pleasure
We arrived by accident in this restaurant... what a joy! The emplacemeny is exceptional: a beautiful castle with a great garden. We took the sunday-menu of the chef (6 courses)...what a delight! The food was superb, the staff was very professional and friendly. We had a wonderful evening!
Chosen the bistro over the restaurant because, we were told, the cuisine is basically similar but the service more informal, as we were travelling with children. The menu is somewhat short, children option scarse, actual food amount on plates on the small end of the scale. The service, although courteous enough, is nothing to speak of and actually we found it extremely slow. The food quality is rather drab and not worth of a return. Price rather expensive for what you get. The only plus is the characteristic settings, but this is not sufficient to shadow the overall low quality of the food on offer.
Famous chef Matthieu Horve is an artist. We had a surprise six course dinner and it was just amazing. We love this place and plan to come back soon.
