The name of the restaurant put me off but I’m pleased to say we were all more than happy with our menu choices.

Waited for someone to serve us, then we were greeted with someone who just pointed at a table which wasn't even made up yet.. which is fine but not a smile or a hello, just a mumble and pointed. We sat down and picked what we wanted, then we waited. Then we waited a bit more. We tried to get the attention of a waiter who just gave a sign as if to say 1 moment, so we waited... it was 36 degrees out and we were dying for just a drink... We waited... then we left. No idea how good the food is. Service was terrible.

We would of liked to sit outside but it was full so we were ushered into a back room with one other customer. The atmosphere was not great. We orderd drinks which arrived swiftly as did more customers and soon the room was buzzing with excited chatter. We had a mezze starter with tomato ciabatta which was fantastic. Followed by 2 risottos cooked to perfection and a penne pasta with the best ariabata sauce I have ever had. 2 pints of excellent draught peroni and 2 half carafes of wine all came in at under €50. Great value for money. If we had read the reviews before hand we probably wouldn't of gone and would of missed out on a great meal. The staff were very efficient and attentive making our visit a very happy occasion.

The only time I remember going to a restaurant and not eating. Although some staff seemed interested in serving customers, our waiter certainly did not. The main issue was that, when the waiter realised that what I ordered was not available, instead of asking me to choose something else, he just brought me another dish: I sent it back twice before being given the menu. I ordered another dish and was told this was also not available (fine) but was then ignored until the rest of my family had finished their meals at which point we paid and left. There are better places in Sabaudia: better food, service and atmosphere.
