Beautiful. The couple runs the restaurant with a lot of love and dedication. Very reasonable prices, delicious food, very friendly. This isn't a tourist trap, but here you're still a real customer. Definitely recommended...

My Disastrous Experience at the Altstadt Eck Restaurant in Saarburg While passing through the tourist town of Saarburg, I wanted to enjoy a meal at the Altstadt Eck restaurant. What a shame! Despite a setting that promised a pleasant experience, my experience turned into a nightmare. After an interminable hour-long wait without explanation just to be served, I finally politely asked the waitress when our meal would arrive, even offering to cancel if it took too long. Her reaction? A completely inappropriate outburst of anger, punctuated by the possibility of calling the police if we left the restaurant without paying, apart from two drinks and two green salads, otherwise nothing would have been brought to the table! Five minutes later (1 hour and 5 minutes after our arrival), our food finally arrived. It's worth noting that wasted time also costs money. And then, another disappointment: the schnitzel was worthy of a child's portion, and the mixed grill was completely bland. No taste pleasure, ridiculous portions, and a feeling of being looked down upon, even on the plate. In summary: • Waiting over an hour to be served • Aggressive and threatening staff instead of professional • Bland dishes, minimalist portions For such a touristy city, this is simply unacceptable. I strongly advise against the Altstadt Eck restaurant: move on; there are plenty of other places where customers are still respected.

Good afternoon, Madam Owner, who is also the unfriendly waitress, Spaghetti with seafood is a Mediterranean dish, and you offer it on your very concise menu. But the seafood is still swimming in the sea, not on your plate... so you don 't know that you 're offering Mediterranean food for good money... (see your reply to Nevil D. 's review from a month ago) that you don 't have any Mediterranean cuisine at all. Unbelievable, not knowing what you 're offering. And as for your good, home-style cooking, you offer ready-made schnitzels from the supermarket, which are tastelessly heated up in cheap fat in the deep fryer. Offering canned mushrooms with powdered sauce as fresh mushrooms is definitely not quite right. And don 't worry, we couldn 't finish our plates. On top of that, you serve a large portion of your unfriendliness and child-hostility with disrespect as whipped cream. Enjoy your meal and kind regards, also from our two children (4 and 5 years old) who were not welcome here and who each had to order an adult meal.

Real German cuisine. Very nice Romanian owner with her German husband in the kitchen. Very hospitable, time for a chat and provided an extra chocolate for the children who did not drink coffee. With a view of the waterfall and at the top of the steeply climbing street from the Saar, it is also a very picturesque spot.

Friendly service. We went to this restaurant based on reviews. The salad was simple and fresh. The rest of the fried cordon bleu meal was unappetizing. The price-quality ratio is poor.
