The service here was a bit slow considering there was next to no one in the restaurant. The server was very nice. The portions were very large and the food was very good. I had a salad. The greens were very fresh. My husband had... View all feedback.
What daearz77 doesn't like about Railyard In Elk:
We decided to get tickets to this after riding the Polar Express, which totaled about $55. This is extremely over priced. They try, they really try. They offer multiple coloring sheets for the kids and have the Polar Express movie playing. But, the food is awful. The meats were lukewarm. The bread was cold. The Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were horrible in taste. Do not get the pumpkin pie for dessert. It didn’... View all feedback.
Had No Trespassing signs on porch door. Looks like they are preparing to open soon.
Our bluegrass band Crandall Creek at there on 6/6/20. The owner Valerie Braden cooked on an outside grill. The food was INCREDIBLE!!! Everything from fish, burgers, chicken Alfredo, it was all just spectacular. The staff was very friendly as well. With the social distance standards in place it was all done very well. You simply must try this place!!! Excellent!
This was our last dinner offered on a 3 day/2 night West Virginia tour of two trains and a cave. The restaurant seemed closed except for bus tours that day. We were offered three buffet entrees, vegetarian lasagna, chicken masala, and ham, salad with three unidentified dressings, potato, green beans and pies for dessert. By the time our table was called the buffet (staffed by two attendants, 4 stainless steel bins), we were told that we only could have one entree as they were running out of food. They provided coffee, regular and decaf, and ice tea. However, when someone asked for hot tea, they said that was not offered, but, they brought the customer a hot cup of water. No one had a tea bag. An ice cream parlor was attached and we could buy ice cream. Afterwards, we were held until the previous bus finished watching the upstairs entertainment, an up and coming bluegrass band. We got back to the hotel at 10:30pm, a bit late for those who needed to pack for a 0730 departure.
Loved this place! Our waiter was so sweet and attentive. He never let our drinks go dry. Very polite too. The place was clean and cozy, loved that you got to sit up on the second story and could sit outside on the balcony. Very beautiful views! Food was great and so was the price. It was only $17 for these two meals. Havent tried the ice cream as we were full after eating our meals. I'll try to save room for next time.
We are at the Caboose Ice Cream Parlor. It was a great experience, very relaxing, and great flavor choices!! Definitely will return!
