The WP Burger encompassed everything that I wanted on a burger. Swiss, bacon, mushrooms, onions, and truffle aioli are the perfect additions to any beef patty in my humble estimation. My buddy had a yen to try the Gnocchi for an appetizer, and I obliged. It may have given us carbo overload, but it was decadently delicious. The beer menu was impressive, but Modern Times, Coin-Op and Toronado in North Park had already... View all feedback.
What vagabondginger doesn't like about Waypoint Public:
Due to the pandemic the menu and hours are very limited. Gastropubs are a British creation started back in 1991 that crossed the pond to trend in America. On my visit it was just burgers, fries, tacos, wings type food craft beers. No appetizer menu which is usually what I go for. I did order fish chips with an Epping Lager. Like so many places they have cordoned off part of the street for outdoor seating. My food arrived on a big tray with a cup of coleslaw, 3 huge pieces of fish half the tray was fries. Enough to feed 2 people. It was hot crisp and I packed half of it in a to go box. Service was great. These are tough times for these places. It's right in my neighborhood so I tried to throw some support their way.
The food was good, the staff accommodating, drinks were cold and refreshing, and the company was exceptional.
I would only be back here again for drinks and to hang out since I like where it is located. The food is typical bar/gastropub items. Ordered the Hot Chicken Sando and it was overwhelmingly seasoned the chicken itself was cooked well. The Grilled Cheese Dip the dip is what makes this order have great flavor, but is what it is. I went around 6pm on a Monday when they have happy hour all day...the food took a touch long to come out in my opinion, especially since there were only about 4 small parties.
Fun cocktails and cool space. I think its probably more of a day-drinking place and we were there on a Saturday night. When the garage door/windows are closed it can get loud and echo-y inside.
Bright open space with wide selection of beers, good food and a play area for small children
