I love this place. It's a casual no nonsense steakhouse. Their beef is the best in San Diego. Double R ranch with in house dry aging room? You better stop playing. I love the chalkboard with selection of cuts, you never go wrong picking 45 or 60 dry aged. The sides are great, their key lime pie and apple tart are to die for. You cannot go wrong here. Wonderful ambiance and excellent customer service, however, extremely expensive! We brought our visiting relatives from Norway and although they enjoyed the food, they said it was too expensive for the small amount of food they received. Still recommend the place, but maybe for once in a blue moon special occasion!
I Actually Have Been Here Before. I Sat The Bar, I Was Very Thirsty Because Of Walking In The Hot Sun And Asked For A Ice Cold Water. Yeah The Bartender Kept Pressing Me To Buy A Beer. I Ordered A Steak And A Baked Potato Fully Loaded. I Definitely Waited For Awhile My Bartender Did Bring Me Hot Delicious Dinner Rolls. I Did Order A Beer With My Meal. I Noticed The Baked Potato Only Had Butter And Had To Ask For The Sour Cream. I Started To Eat My Steak, Oh Yeah Found It To Be Dry And Salty. I Definitely Had To Drown It In Steak Sauce. I Actually Don't Remember The Food Being So Below Average The Service So Mediocre. I Don't Mind Pricey But It Should Be Worth It. I Say Come Try It Hopefully You'll Have A Better Experience Than I Had. Yeah Every Restaurant Has A Bad Night. Parking: I Definitely Didn't See To Manny Parking Spaces Available. I Actually Would Uber Here Or Take The Trolley. Yup There Is A Green Line Trolley Stop Here. Wheelchair accessibility: I Did See Plenty Of Wheelchair Access They Definitely Have A Handicap Bathroom Stall. I Actually Didn't See Any Issues.
Food is average, I expected better stakes. Then place is nice though.
Always love the care taken in our experience at Lou Mickey's! Oysters are delicious, service is top notch and the beautiful but relaxed ambiance is perfect for downtown SD. We enjoyed steak and seafood, with every bite being perfect! The drinks were done well, too. Outdoor seating is fun to people watch and enjoy SD's weather. Kid-friendliness: Definitely pricy to bring kids, but casual enough for the well behaved child with space between tables to reduce likelihood of ruining another table's date night.
Nice little shop. Sides were fantastic. Steak was better than average. Texture was spot on but it did lack flavor.
