Just wow! Everyone and their grandmother is trying to make the perfect chicken sandwich nowadays, but these guys nailed it. I think this is the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Parking in Hillcrest is a little bit of a nightmare, but I’ll be making a point to come back soon! View all feedback.
What Matthew E doesn't like about Baba's Chicken:
Ordered the original chicken sandwich, mild, with side of fried pickles. Sandwich was overall very good! Was very crunchy, not overly oily, and mild spice was very tolerable. Spices and flavors of the toppings and breading was great! What was disappointing was that the actual chicken was not flavorful. Would be great if the chicken could take some of the flavor of the spices. Would recommend but most likely won't go... View all feedback.
It seems the Nashville Chicken craze has caught on everywhere these days. I've had probably 5-7 different places so I feel like my expectations of what a proper Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich should taste like is pretty high. For example, Dave's and World Famous Hot Boys are in a similar bucket for me in that both have great quality and authentic tasting sandwiches BUT are quite pricey. This place, I was actually not impressed with their chicken quality. When you bite into chicken at the other places I've gone and compare it to Baba's, there was a noticeable difference. The chicken was more dry, the seasoning was just on the fried portion of the chicken and didn't taste the flavor in the chicken itself, and lastly the crust was actually crusty rather than a smooth/soft crunch. I did have the mac n cheese and enjoyed it, but I just was not impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. The prices are reasonable, so that is good. Also, if you haven't had much Nasvhille Hot Chicken then you may find this place to be great, but for me considering the varieties I have tasted, I felt like this was a 3-star food experience. However, you should see for yourself.

Legit. Came here on a Friday afternoon (2 pm) and walked straight up and ordered from their kiosk. Tried their chicken sando (hot) and tenders (extreme). Hot was spicy (level 6) and their extreme was spicier (level 8). Chicken was juicy and full of flavor. *Chefs kiss* Was told by the owner that there's an ATOMIC which isn't on their menu. Spicier than extreme. Will have to try next time I'm in the area. Food: 5 stars. Service: 5 stars. Would recommend.
Ali was very kind he even stayed open a little later to allow us to order our food and it brought it out nice and hot and fresh! I'll definitely be back
Always looking for halal friendly spots and this didn't disappoint. I'm from Detroit and they have a million places like this one but honestly the flavor and spice level of the chicken was perfect. A lot of the times these places are lacking flavor or too spicy but this was perfect. I got the sandwich, medium spice. I wish I got the tenders too cause I really loved the flavor of the chicken. Get the cheese sauce on the side as well tastes great when u dip it in the fries and put it in the sandwich! 10/10! Plus they brought the food out to me cause I'm on crutches! Amazing customer service as well!
