Red Indiian - Rutland

I had planned on getting takeout from this restaurant, but was surprised to learn they only accept cash! How is that still acceptable? I can only assume it's to avoid paying taxes. It's concerning to hear that they have been cash only even during the pandemic. With this kind of policy, I would have serious concerns about the cleanliness of their kitchen.

This Indian restaurant is without a doubt the worst I have ever been to. The food was terrible, bland, and flavorless. I've had spicier cornflakes than the Jalfrezi I was served. The mushrooms were swimming in water, the rice was undercooked, the sag paneer was rubbery, and the naan bread was as tough as a wellington boot. To top it off, they only accepted cash and did not serve alcohol, which was not advertised before we sat down. When we asked to move to a different table away from the air conditioning in the empty restaurant, we were told we would have to move if someone else needed that table. Save yourself the trouble and go to the nearby "one stop" instead. It's better to buy a box of biscuits from there than to support these rude individuals who are trying to avoid taxes.

I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation and it did not disappoint! Firstly, it is a BYOB establishment, with a convenient store just two minutes away for beer and wine. The restaurant is happy to provide ice and glasses for your drinks. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing, with a variety of dishes I had never seen before. We tried the lamb and chicken dishes, both of which were delicious. The portions are large, so you may want to consider ordering fewer sides or taking some home if you are local. Overall, it is a fantastic local Indian restaurant serving high-quality food. I recommend going on an empty stomach and enjoying a tasty meal.

Another amazing curry from this restaurant. We arrived late but wasn't a problem to them and they sat us down and we enjoyed a lovely array of curries. Visited with friends and they said they would visit again. it is bring your own booze and cash only.

A lovely restaurant with a brilliant choice of curries and other delights. The night we visited I wasn't feeling the spice so had a Chicken biriyani. WOW. flavoursome and a huge portion. Needless to say they were happy to package it up and it was just as good the next day! Its a bring your own booze but there is a pub next door or shop on the street opposite.
