Lake Moodemere Estate - Rutherglen

The food was outstanding. It was perfectly cooked. The wine I had enticed me to purchase 6 bottles. I cannot recall the last time I experienced fine dining. The experience yesterday certainly was 'fine dining ' but, as a Mr Suburban Average, I did find the cost expensive. There were no vegetables to be served with the lamb dish and I had to purchase some beautifully prepared sprouts to 'round off ' the dish. I have eaten at restaurants in Wangaratta and the dishes were served with small quantities of some vegetables. I suggest that the addition of small quantities of vegetables be served with the appropriate dish, such as the lamb. Service was excellent.

Fantastic place to Lunch! We had a tasting from the lovely Sherrie, who expertly took us through some excellent wines Sat near the open fire and ordered the estate plate for 3, food was superb, service from our waitress was top notch…just lovely! Will be back again, Thanks Moodemere!!

Don’t come here if you’re looking for silver service, linen tablecloths etc. But DO come if you’re looking for somewhere unique with personal friendly service and extremely tasty food. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and it will be top of our agenda when we next visit the region.

We enjoyed lunch in front of an open fire in the dining room on a cold, wet day this week. The menu accommodated the two children who were part of our group with ease, and the Lake Moodemere Estate staff were charming and friendly. The Estate grown lamb was a standout and the sides were a hit with even the two young vegetable skeptics. In short, it was a warm, comfortable refuge on a bleak day.

Absolutely adored our time at Lake Moodemere. We booked for lunch. The food was absolutely divine. Best bread I have ever eaten in my life. Service was impeccable. The setting is so homely and Australian. Couldn’t speak more highly of Lake Moodemere. Cannot wait to come back.
