Delicious food lovely atmosphere, with a fireplace nice view of the bay sail boats.

Best scotch fillet ever. Similar to my favorite at Boulcott Bistro on Boulcott Street, Wellington. I had to go back to the Boating Club the second night, just to have it again. If you go to Russell, you must eat here if you're looking for an amazing taste sensation without hurting your pocket. Jackie Haines, the chef, is generous with the portions and certainly knows how to please a foodie like me. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place has a friendly, welcoming feel. The locals are also easy to chat with and suggest some of the must see look-outs while you're there. They also have bands playing, so a good time to eat well and kick up those heels

I was Club Captain and Head Chef in the late nineties for several years and enjoyed every minute! Looks like, from the reviews, the same high standards of yesteryear are being maintained. Good luck to the club and all it's members! Hello Christine Hall!
