Have been coming here with my Mom for lunch for a few weeks and im blown away each time. First time we got a Chicago dog and Italian beef, was really good. Second time we got a Rueben and The Beanie Burger, which is probably my favorite. Third time we got a Tuesday special Taco Salad and The South of the Burger. Can't wait to bring my husband one day, I think he'll love it. Truly enjoy the small town, small bar atmos... View all feedback.
What Paul Button doesn't like about Beanie's:
The restaurant has recently updated their menu, making it smaller and removing some of our favorite dishes. We dined in during dinner service, and the food scored a 4 out of 5, while the service and atmosphere both earned a 5 out of 5. View all feedback.
I really wanted to love this place because he's close to my house and there's really not much else. they are opening around midday. we arrived at 11:45 a.m. and arrived in front of the door. it was st. patrick’s day. So everyone starts knocking. we followed and sat on a 4 chair. there were two on our party. a server comes to our table and we have urged not to wait for space. we told her that we followed the people before us. she told us they wanted to sit on the bar and you don't have to wait for you to sit on the bar. she goes back to the line and tells us we're going to end. I questioned them and then another server jumped in and defended us. we were then led to another table with 4 chairs. I felt like in the twilight zone. our server gaby was absolutely wonderful, efficient and attentive. but eating was dirty and subpar. we had a corned beef and cabbage dinner, a reuben and wing. the reuben was tasteless. it did not come with any suits on the sandwich or on the side. the wings were good. I ordered a burger to get him to work. it did not come with any senf, mayo or ketchup packages, so I just had to eat it. I will not return to beanies by definition.
A minute agoNEW If I could give negative stars I would. Drove all the way from Riverview to try this place, sat down for 15 minutes waiting for a server, nada...Asked the bartender if we could get a server. As I walked away, she snidely said to another patron, That guy is a jerk first time in this place mind you..Now Ive worked in the food service industry for 25 years, this is not how you treat patrons, let alone be open about it...if this hack staff is like this, I could only imagine what they do to peoples food if they act this unprofessionally...Didnt stick around for the food, I wasn't going to a give this place money after this experience I am going to encourage all I know NOT to give patronage to this dumpster fire.
Good place to watch sports and enjoy a drink along with some nice bar food. The meatloaf is great along with their mashed potatoes. It's also not bad when the owner and I are from the same neighborhood outside Chicago. Beanie's is a must if you're visiting Ruskin or if you live here. Nice place to go with the family. Well, we have been here a number of times pre and post Covid. So post, server a little curt. Maybe too many tables. Do not like servers busing tables. Too much opportunity to spread germs. Out of bean soup their special) just 90 minutes after open. One of us had hamburger. His comments; just average. We had our long time special sandwich, their Ruben. Is it the same as pre Covid. Maybe. All in all, they need to fix a few things before we return. Three stars is just a little bit of a stretch.
We loved this place. A hole in the wall with great beer prices and good bar food. We had the loaded potato chips as an app, very cheesy and each chip had good toppings. Chips are made in house We had the wings and mushroom swiss burger for dinner. The burger was fresh pattied and well seasoned. Cooked to a perfect medium. The wings were large but not as crispy or saucy as I usually like them. I would ask them to cook a little crispier with some extra sauce. Service was friendly and fast.
