Everyone knows how much I love seafood, and although... read more As a Houstonian visiting relatives in Rusk, Texas, I was advised by my family to check out this restaurant. Everyone knows how much I love seafood, and although I'm not typically a fan of daiquiris, I have to say that this place exceeded my expectations! The "Pink Mumba" drink tasted just like a strawberry Starburst, and it was delicious. The seafood was perfectly seasoned, which I really appreciated, and the corn was incredibly buttery without being overcooked. The customer service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I’m giving this place a five-star rating! It will definitely be my go-to spot whenever I visit Rusk.

My fam advised me to try out this place and everyone knows I loveeeeee seafood not much of a fan for daiquiris but honeyyyyyyy when I tell you this place is the bomb.com lol the “Pink Mumba” drink taste like a strawberry starburst the seafood wasn’t heavily seasoned which was a plus for me, it tasted just right, the corn was soooo buttery and wasn’t over cooked! Customer service was awesome, the environment was very friendly. You guys get a 5 star from me…this will be my go to stop every-time I visit Rusk

My mouth was on fire a... read more We ordered the crab plates, and my experience was somewhat mixed. My partner loved it, but I wish I had known just how spicy it would be. My mouth was on fire after the first bite, and since I’m not a fan of spicy food, it was quite unpleasant. I’ve had a sore spot on the side of my mouth that’s been cracking and bleeding for four days now. However, we ended up rinsing off the food in the sink, and afterward, it was fantastic! The boudin was amazing, and the corn was delicious! I did notice that neither plate had the egg shown in the picture. We also tried the strawberry daiquiris, but they were just okay; we couldn’t taste any strawberry at all. So, while my first experience wasn’t entirely positive, I definitely want to give it another shot with the quesadilla plates!

The food here is also outstanding—better than a lot of what I've tried in the city, especially coming from Houston. If you come across a negative review about this place, it seems to stem from bias or a personal issue with Black-owned businesses.
