Was Anonym at The Unicorn's Head a mag?
This pub/restaurant is very well managed, with attentive and friendly servers who greet you with a smile. Within a few minutes of being seated, we were given menus and asked for our drink orders. Our family of four (two adults, two children) ordered a carvery that was absolutely delicious. All the meats were perfectly cooked, with the option of rare or medium for beef and lamb. What Anonym dislikes about The Unicorn's Head:
The restaurant offers some excellent vegan options, which is fantastic! I tried the Moving Mountain burger with vegan cheese and it was delicious. However, the bun was a bit dry and crispy, possibly gluten-free. I would love to go back and try their pizzas next time! View all feedback.

I went to lunch with my daughter and sister and we ordered the Christmas set menu. It was all beautifully presented and we enjoyed it very much. The food was delicious!!!!
Last night, four of us went to have dinner at the Unicorn restaurant. We are all locals but it was our first time visiting since the new management took over. We were very impressed and grateful for the experience. The staff was fantastic – friendly, warm, and attentive. The menu was diverse and intriguing, with just the right amount of options to keep us interested. The food was top-notch, with high-quality ingredients sourced from Harker’s Farm shop. The pricing was reasonable considering the quality of the food. We had a three-course meal, three bottles of wine, and four pints between us, all for £50 per person. It was a great value and we are eagerly looking forward to our next visit. Congratulations to everyone involved in making the Unicorn a brilliant pub. It was a memorable evening!
Never been here before, apparently it has been refurbished, it is stunning and so cosy on a windy wet day. Food was great as were all the staff, wish it was our local!
I visited this restaurant for the first time because of the new ownership, and it exceeded my expectations. The interior is stunning, stylish, and well-designed. The Sunday roast was incredible in every way. We tried the roast chicken with pig in a blanket, roast lamb, and a sweet potato and chestnut vegetarian roast, and each dish was perfect. It's the best roast I've had, and the prices were reasonable for the quality. I'm looking forward to returning and trying more dishes from the menu!

Ate at the Unicorn with group from my Pilates class. Fabulous food and Jess and her team did a great job. I will definitely be back in the New Year Thank you
Have been for lunch now four times since the take over and never disappoints. From delicious sandwiches, Friday chip shop specials roast Turkey dinner. The food is beautifully presented and delivers on taste too. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and excellent service. Will be back very soon! Thank you for our wonderful lunches
Cannot fault our lunch here. The pub was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Staff pleasant helpful. Service quick (though it was a quiet time so can’t comment on if it was busy). We had the potted salmon, game pie, belly pork Christmas pudding. Everything we had was delicious. Clean plates all round our compliments to the chef. We were so impressed, we bought a couple of their home made sausage rolls, made that morning, for our lunch tomorrow! Good list of wines etc. Even had my husbands favourite non alcoholic gin tonic. Will definitely be back.
I’ve driven past this pub 100’s of times while heading to and from Skydive Langer. Finally went in yesterday with family for some food, due to bad weather day and no jumping. Pleasant enough staff serving pretty average food.
Word is spreading fast! Since November 2023, The Unicorn’s Head at Langar is under new management. We live in the village and having heard how great it was from friends and neighbours who’ve been recently, we thought we’d give the Sunday roast a try. We both opted for the roast chicken. It arrived promptly and was presented beautifully. The portions are generous and it was all cooked to perfection. The waiting staff are smart, friendly, polite and professional. Even though they were fully booked and busy, we were given full attention and made to feel like we were welcome. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and management were visible and engaging. I’d say that if you want a good quality, relaxing Sunday lunch out, this is a must for you to give a try. To be assured of getting a table…..book early as it’s popular. Thank you breathing such a positive breath of fresh air back into our village.

You had some vegan options that is great! I had the moving Bergen Burger, who was great and was even fried with some vegan cheese. Unfortunately, the bread was very dry and crumbling, I think it could have been a gluten-free bread. If I were back to visit, I would like to try their pizzas!
We were recommended to dine at this restaurant and we were not let down. The restaurant had lovely decor and we were offered a variety of gins before our meal. We had a starter and main course, but unfortunately didn't have room for dessert. As a family group, we ordered a variety of dishes and enjoyed everything we tried. The service was top-notch and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Our family of four (two adults, two children) ordered a carvery that was absolutely delicious. All the meats were perfectly cooked, with the option of rare or medium for beef and lamb. The dauphinois and bratkartoffeln were especially good. The only downside was a lack of vegetable options for the children, but adding some garden peas and broccoli would make a great addition to the selection. The desserts were also very good, though a bit pricey. We will definitely be back, 100% satisfied.
One of my favourites in nottingham! great eating, beautiful beer garden, friendly family-run pub that allows dogs what more they want (only for being my native! definitely recommend the carvery on a Sunday. 10/10 on the karvery front! only a small update to say that they are surpassing again and again! no question is too much! still the best sharpener!
