The Staunton Arms - Rushcliffe

I've visited a few times and have always been greeted with a warm welcome. The food never fails to impress. While the menu isn't extensive, everything is well-prepared, and the chunky chips are particularly delicious. It can get busy, so it might be a good idea to call ahead.

Dinner was exceptional; we had the pie, which was absolutely delicious, accompanied by some nice wine and great beer. The entire staff was friendly, and the service was flawless. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, offering a peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast was fantastic as well! A heartfelt thanks to everyone at The Staunton Arms. I highly recommend it and definitely plan to return!

My husband and I had a reservation for 7 PM, and upon arrival, the staff greeted us warmly. The atmosphere was cozy, though it was a bit noisy, likely because we were seated next to a Christmas party. The meal was served promptly and was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

I stayed here for two nights last week while traveling from North Wales for a wedding at nearby Langar Hall. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a large en-suite bathroom. We were in the Elston room, which was located opposite the kitchen. Although we were warned about potential kitchen noise, it wasn’t an issue for us, as we wanted to be convenient to the kitchen and tended to go to bed late. The only thing I felt was missing was a net curtain on the ground floor window; it caught us off guard when kitchen staff walked by while we were getting dressed, especially since there were open fields beyond the hedge.

During our stay nearby, we visited this restaurant. I chose the sirloin steak from the specials board, and it certainly deserved the special designation. My steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare, and clearly had been well rested before serving. It was so tender that a butter knife would have done the job just as well as a steak knife. The thick hand-cut chips were also cooked just right. My partner's salmon was delightful as well. Thank you for a wonderful meal in a pleasant atmosphere, complemented by friendly and helpful staff.
