What User dislikes about Sheperds:
As a disabled person, waiting in line at carveries is difficult for me, as is carrying plates of food. The system is pay in advance and join the queue. I chose the fish and chips and the barman came and told me it was ready...to collect, which my daughter did for me. I regretted choosing the fish as it was quite a horrible mushy thing, of unknown origin. No flavour. I told myself not to choose fish again unless it wa... View all feedback.

We called today for a relaxing Friday and that is what we got. Thanks to Sam and the team for a clean and safe space.
I have been here hundreds of times, even for the Christmas dinner (which I wouldn’t advise trying) I often came here for breakfast until they started rationing the sausages. Today I thought I would see if the sausage counting had ended. My goodness me, it...was the worst breakfast I had ever had. Clearly re heated from the day before. The bacon crumbled when I tried to eat it. The sausages were as tough as an old boot. And here’s a funny one......, I struggle to walk. All the seating next to the bar where there’s no step was reserved . Obviously I went further in up the step to the non reserved area . Upon sitting down I saw why the other seating was reserved . It’s for the staff to eat their breakfast and lounge around on. I had to laugh. Disgusting. I was surprised they actually ate the cremated offerings. A customer approached one of the lounging staff and was told “ iam not on duty at the moment “ what’s happened to this place. It’s gone down the toilet for sure.

I regretted choosing the fish as it was quite a horrible mushy thing, of unknown origin. No flavour. I told myself not to choose fish again unless it was specifically mentioned by species. I decided to give this chain another chance at a different restaurant. This only confirmed my disappointment and I have vowed not to go to any of this chain's outlets ever again.
Went with a friend for a Carvery lunch. We ordered a standard carvery plate and there was a choice of Beef,Gammon or Pork. I had the beef which I have to say was tasty and tender , the Onion Gravy was also very flavourfull but...that is where it ended . We received slices of meat each which I thought was very stingy, the Chef was very good at cutting thin slices as well. The vegetables were watery and overcooked , the food was lukewarm. Had to visit the loo and it was obvious that they are not inspected regularly . I won't go into details but suffice it to say I was not impressed . Budding opera singers may be glad to learn that the cubicles in the Gents have no lock bolts and so a rendition of your favourite song is required to prevent unwanted incursions whilst you are busy' The decor of the pub was nice and there were a variety of areas and table sizes to cater for couples or larger parties. I won't be returning though.............
