Reviews - Okende
Reviews summary
Nestled in Nottingham, this café has garnered mixed reviews from patrons. While some praise its lovely Swedish-style offerings and unique pastries, others lament subpar service and cleanliness issues. Customers appreciate the quality of the coffee, considering it a notch above competitor chains, but dissatisfaction arises over staff attitudes and hygiene standards. The ambiance, described as hipster and clean, appeals to many, yet a few feel this aesthetic overshadows genuine customer care. Despite the inconsistencies, some regulars find it a charming spot for brunch or a quick coffee. A few highlight the outdoor seating and inviting atmosphere as redeeming features.

After being served in the august by these youngs in the primary makers market coffee, I can't wait until they open up in west bridgeford. beautiful icybrows and cakes served by beautiful people who clearly passionate about everything they do. a winning combination! View all feedback.
What pedrojock dislikes about Okende:
I try very hard to support local independent cafes, I have tried it a few times but at some point you have to say after a few bad experiences it nor the place for me. If you are going to charge more for coffee in cup’s about 1/3 smaller than rivals at least make it decent coffee but the worst but is the coolness/rudeness of some of the staff. Simply love the coffee here, probably the most accomplished in Nottinghamshire, or dare I say it the East Midlands. Genuinely very very good coffee, by people who genuinely care about it.
Absolute love this place and it's my go to coffee shop in West Bridgford. I'm yet to try the city centre shop, but I'm sure it's just as good. The coffee is spot on and the cardamon buns are amazing
THE place to spend your Sunday eating a bun and sipping the best filter coffee in Notts. By getting coffee here you are supporting a great small business that actually cares about quality!
Absolutely love Okende! THE best coffee, lovely staff and amazing pastries. We always take friends and family when they’re staying and they love it too.
I have been coming to this coffee shop semi regularly since it opened. The coffee is always great quality and their rotation on espresso keeps things fresh. As a coffee dabbler, it’s great to have excellent coffee at your doorstep. The baked goods are excellent, the new malted milk chocolate cookies are awesome. I didn’t get a photo of it as I ate it too quickly

Went here for one of their weekend evenings where they do pasta and pizza. We started with focaccia followed by pizza and gnocchi and then cheese. All were delicious and plentiful. We completed with a bottle of their Polish red wine which was light, easy drinking and went well with the food. Service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive and friendly. All this in the usual O’kende relaxed style.
Great coffee from the new Carrington st outlet! It’s the perfect spot for me to grab a quick coffee on the commute to work. The coffee is far nicer than the chain cafes and at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and the service is very quick ideal on the morning commute. It’s a shame there isn’t much seating but it doesn’t matter if you’re taking away. I’ve not tried the pastries but they look delicious, which I’ll pick one up eventually. Overall, I can’t fault it. GO and support GOOD, independent coffee!
We came on a Saturday morning for brunch. Absolutely appalling customer service. The female member of staff who served us was rude and had an attitude problem. I am not surprised to see other reviews here about the hostile reception others have received. While some might like the ‘hipster’ vibe, I’m sure this place won’t last long if they continue in this manner..
Lovely unusual Swedish-style coffee shop; rare in Nottingham, only a few others that I know of and I'd say this is my favourite. Pastries and cakes are a nice mix of usual coffee shop favourites, plus more unique or Scandinavian style bakes. Keep up the Basque cheesecake as hardly any other places offer this! Lovely coffee too :D will come again.

It’s the how date they sit in my showroom cafe, no real surprise last couple morning since it’s been empty. Maybe if they cared more about customer service than projecting a hipster image they would be busier!

Relaxing and friendly atmosphere, delicious coffee that is fruity and tasteful. cakes are very good (especially brownie.) the staff here are some of the nicest people they can meet and go beyond and beyond.
Excellent coffee from La Cabra!!! I had a flat white with Brazilian origin! Although, I am not a fan of very steamed milk! I like the milk to be warm, not hot! But apart from that small issue, I really liked the place and the minimalistic vibe! They also provide eggs and bread there! Amazing!!!
