I had been given a voucher for two as a work leaving gift and recently moved to Surrey from Northumberland. This was our first visit and very impressed. The lounge was buzzing on Saturday afternoon and good atmosphere. The girls serving us were professional and friendly, we were made to feel special it was a treat. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty but the cakes and scones were to die for so delicious light and flu... View all feedback.
What Dot1956 doesn't like about The Lounge:
Had a wonderful lunch at The Runnymede on Boxing Day. The staff were very attentive, polite and friendly. Food was fabulous and wonderful surroundings. Couldn't recommend highly enough. It was so good, we've already booked for next year! View all feedback.
Cool, modern, relaxed bistro. I loved the sour dough bread and the service was generally pretty good although one waiter seemed pretty uninterested in his job. The machiato was not what I was expecting, being served more like an espresso. There is free car parking for guests and the decor is really classy.
You cannot book the Lounge but there was a reasonable amount of space. Outside was full, not surprising as the weather was nice. The menu was via a QR code and you order and pay using the website that comes up. Food and drinks both turned up in good time. I had a crispy duck salad that was very good and my friend a sandwich which was also good apparently. Service was good and friendly. A nice place for lunch.
Had a light lunch at the lounge on a beautiful day. Great to see the staff back and the service is always whats expected. Had a little wait for our lunch but was all sorted by Martin. Great service as always from the staff and hope to be back at the Left Bank again.
Decided to call in to have a cocktail before dinner at a nearby restaurant. We found the seating configuration strange as it seemed to cater for large groups and not for couples. This meant that there were several six seating areas with only two people sitting at them. As soon as we found a suitable table, we hadn’t even taken our coats off or sat down when a member of staff came over to ask what we’d like to drink. We asked her to come back in a few minutes when we’d had a chance to settle ourselves and look at the menu. She didn’t come near or by us again but we did see her chatting to another member of staff. After almost 15 minutes, I managed to catch someone’s eye but before we had a chance to say what we wanted, we were told how we could pay! We both had a glass of wine as, disappointingly, the only cocktails were gin based. We were even more disappointed when we said ‘cheers’ that our glasses made the dull thud of cheap glass and not crystal as one would expect in prestigious establishment and for the prices charged. The wine wasn’t that cold and we weren’t offered any nibbles either. The only saving grace of our brief 45 minutes in The Lounge was the guitarist playing in the background. Next time we’ll go to a local pub and get better service with a smile, cold wine more atmosphere.
Rest area between reception relaxing and comfy .staff friendly clean and sparkly a great place to meet family and friends
