Mister Softee - Runnemede
Mister Softee
Description
Mister Softee has been a nostalgic staple in neighborhoods, stirring joyous memories for many. However, recent experiences paint a mixed picture. While some cherish the iconic soft serve and excellent customer service, others express frustration over rude interactions and inconsistent product quality. Safety concerns arise with trucks speeding through neighborhoods, leading to complaints from frustrated parents trying to enjoy ice cream with their children. Despite these challenges, Mister Softee endures as a cherished tradition for many, evoking warm memories tied to summer evenings and the playful sound of the jingle. The brand's legacy continues to inspire both affection and scrutiny.

Can we please have some decency and respect in our neighborhoods? When you pull up to a stop and serve multiple persons could you please shut the music off while you are there. YOU might enjoy the tones of the ICT jingles but some of us DO NOT enjoy the 15 minutes or more you spend serving those who choose to indulge in your products.
I jump up and down like a little kid and they drive to fast By the time I get out there I hear the jingle in the distance so sad ? Mr. softee is great I'll stop you??
To this day, the jingle makes me immediately look around to see where the truck is. In this era of small-batch, artisanal ice cream (which I also love), I can still be just as giddy to get a small cone of Mister Softee soft serve. I moved away from the Mister Softee service area for years, and I missed it and the sounds of the trucks every summer. Growing up, we'd often drive past this headquarters building near my NJ home; seeing the ice cream truck on the roof still makes me smile. I even had the jingle as my ringtone for a few years. I never bothered with the novelties like the bomb pop, though I think I got an ice cream bar shaped like a cartoon mouse a few times as a kid. I'm pretty satisfied with a twist in a cake cone. Haven't tried a black and white shake in years, but I'm sure it would still be good.
To those who complain that the server is too speedy: just step outside when he's on the street behind your house and be sure to stand where he can see you. Wave your arms to get his attention. As for my review: the music is driving me crazy. It frustrates me every time I hear it.
