The restaurant had 1 person dinning and 2 tables, other than ours, set up for bookings. 3 course set lunch at £32.95 offering all the roasts. We all had the lamb which was excellent, the vegetables were well cooked. The roast potatoes were rock hard, my fork could bearly break the skin, and my first attempt made it jump of the plate. The Yorkshire Pudding were cooked to death, perhaps days before. We all had the ice cream sundae. The ice cream had not been stored properly and had ice crystals in it, and the brownie was stale, presumably from a left over cream tea. Hawtrey's used to be really good, but looks like it has suffered from the times, with customers walking with their feet. Won't be coming back.

Our Maître d, Bogdan, w... read more My party of four dined at this restaurant on Saturday night and tried the tasting menu. We were extremely satisfied with our experience! Our Maître d, Bogdan, was exceptional and went out of his way to accommodate substitutions for one of our guests. The food and wine pairings were truly amazing. The only downside was that there weren't more patrons in the restaurant to enhance the atmosphere. It's clear that this restaurant could benefit from more advertising. We will definitely be returning in the future.
