The Cafe Windbag Countess is home in a historic mill farm. The mares inside are lovingly executed. There are some anecdotes here. The menu is extensive and there is something for everyone. Very recommended are the carving, the chicken in the nest or also the Sauren dumplings. Of course one can also plaster one of the numerous variants of the Lohengrin wind bag. If you still have room for a piece of cake after lunch, it is recommended to take a piece of Dachi or cheesecake at the front of the counter.

Worth a trip. If several people then book. A dream are the wind bags in different variants. The size of the wind bag is buy to believe!!!! Each wind bag has its own number where you can see how many have been sold. also the "Bavarian" kitchen is very nice round fresh.

All I can add is that it’s a good job there are so many mountain walks around Ruhpolding, which you will need if you eat one of their Choux Pastry concoctions. They have a choice of 12 of these Windbeutel’s to choose from, so for a two week holiday you should get through the whole menu!!These masterclass cakes are NOT to be missed.Lovely Family Friendly Restaurant, lovely people in a grand setting. They do have other things on the menu, possibly just as nice, but I didn’t see anyone around me trying other things than these delicious Windbeutel’s

Walk from Ruhpolding where we are staying. Beautiful place with lovely view of the mountains and the Unternberg in particular. Clearly a very popular place and gets very very busy. There is a terrific selection on the menu and it must cater for everyone....I got a coffee and what turned out to be a massive slice of apple cake. The cake was lovely, and there was a lot of it. The only negative really was the wait for it. It was very quiet when we got here (circa but we had to wait for some minutes before the cake came. Wasn't the end of the world on such a lovely day and I'm sure that this isn't a common experience. I would certainly recommend this place to visitors looking for coffee and cake or maybe somewhere for lunch.
