Always lots to see at Blooms garden centre, super plants, lots of different stores to browse and then, of course, coffee and cake who can resist. Always friendly, helpful staff. View all feedback.
What frankl224 doesn't like about Blooms Garden Centre:
Absolutely horrendous, this garden centre is now operated by Dobbies, service was painfully slow even for a drink and a sandwich, especially as they were not serving meals due to “unforeseen circumstances”. Staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing, nobody was clearing the tables, I know it’s just after Halloween but this was a complete nightmare, won’t be coming back in a hurry View all feedback.
Called in today for lunch, been a while since we've visited and first time since it's changed to dobbies, the counter service in the cafe was shocking, none of the staff seemed to know a first thing about what to do, wanted jacket potatoes, told didn't do them on a Sunday but everything else on the menu, really! Had chicken salad sandwich instead which to be fair was ok, just didn't like the feel of the place, unlike other dobbies cafes that are excellent, garden centre isn't the best also compared to other dobbies.
Apparently everything on the menu is available on a Sunday except jacket potatoes...lies ! I could understand if they had ran out we were ordering a 2pm but the guys behind the counter didn't seem to have a clue what they are doing! We will see how long it takes them to make a couple of sarnies.. won't be eating here again should have gone maccy ds
Went this morning with a friend to buy bird seed and have a coffee and we were tempted to have breakfast and a cake. As it was close to 11.30 am, when they stop servoig breakfast, our order was taken by a waitress, who said she would bring it to us. We were intrigued by a green cake and decided to share a slice. We still hadn't reached the till when our breakfast was ready, but the waitress very kindly took it to a table for us. At the till, we asked what the cake was and were told it was coffee and walnut, which surprised us, and that the bill camr to £19.85. I proffered a £20 note and was given my receipt but no change. At the table we asked the waitress again what the cake was, and she said that it was a herb cake with raspberry jam, not coffee and walnut as we had been told. The breakfast was good, although the beans could have been hotter, and the cake tasted overwhelmingly of the raspberry jam, not the herbs. In short, good food, slow service at the till, but excellent service at the table.
Went for a look round garden centre and decided to have lunch. Waited 30 minutes initially to be served with 2 cups of tea, should really have realised then not to order more. When my husband and son in law joined us we decided to order food, what a mistake. After 35 minutes I asked where our food was, the young girl said she'd find out, 10 minutes later our food arrived with no apology. We received a sandwich in place of a toastie and no cranberry on our bacon, brie and cranberry toasties, when asked we were bought cold cranberry sauce with a scowl and no apology.
This is on the other side of Dunchurch, Rugby, and isn 't part of Wyevale any more. There are a lot of different areas apart from plants to see, such as 'Hotter shoes ', 'B on Marche and 'Mountain Wsrehouse '; a garden area with lots of plants and garden equipment. In July/August, you can buy bargsins, but not with the fruit trees. Underserved smaller areas, selling gifts, household things, things for pets; and clothes shops, such as Edinburgh Mills, and a cafe. We only bought some bedding plants and a garden keeper and a couple of small gifts. Some things were a bit pricey, but others were a reasonable pricr.
