I enjoyed a dish that seemed to appear on menus all over the region -- Hirschpfeffer, which is kind of like Sauerbraten done with venison. My wife had Hackbraten, which is like the world's fanciest meatloaf. Both main courses were delicious and came with a wide array of tasty side items. I counted 11 separate side items on my plate before they rapidly disappeared. Every one of them came with full flavor that complemented the meal.The atmosphere was impacted (some will find positively, others negatively) by a loud group of local men who seem to use this place as their regular hangout to host animated discussions. Otherwise it had the feel of a fine dining establishment. And it was priced accordingly -- not cheap, but certainly fair for the quality and taste of the meal.

High quality food, excellent wine list, comfortable atmosphere, and very child friendly.
