The location was very cold. The dishes were so small and so extremely expensive. The coperto was 6 euro per person for nothing. It was a robbery. Stay away!
This is a high quality and creative restaurant without a condescending attitude about how customers should eat. They offer a few pre-fixe options, but they are very flexible about how you eat and what you eat. This is a refreshing approach and it is different than a lot of high end restaurants that are set up to do things a particular way. I do not eat any seafood or fish products but my partner does, so we really appreciate restaurants that can accommodate our interests. We opted to do a la carte vegetarian menu for myself and a let the chef decide seafood menu for my partner, and both were exceptional in taste and beautifully presented. Even the bread and butter at this place was unusually good. The location was also a nice feature. They are on a large piazza (one of the largest, if not the largest, in Europe) that we wanted to visit anyway, so it was nice to sit outside and take that in while eating. Most of the piazza is dedicated to pedestrian traffic, so there aren 't many cars to be annoyed by. It was lovely to watch the park-like interior of the piazza slowly fill with people hanging out or enjoying the evening passegiata. The food is obviously Italian but it has just the right amount international influences and friendly, unpretentious atmosphere.
The food and service were exceptional. Each dish was unique and creative. Fabulous. Try the fois gras
Excellent seafood tasting menu in a lovely modern setting overlooking Prato Della Valle. Paired wines very good indeed and waitress was very friendly and explained the food and wine in detail.
15 minutes after making a phone reservation, I got a call from the restaurant telling me the restaurant was fully booked. How is this possible??? I made the reservation with a live person. Then I tried reserving with an online booking service (the fork), using another cell phone . I was confirmed for an hour later, but sure enough, I got a call 15 minutes later again telling me the restaurant was fully booked. How is a restaurant that is rated in the Michellin Guide so disorganized? it definitely does not belong there!
