We went for dinner on a Saturday evening and sat on the patio. We didn’t have a reservation but were able to be seated quickly. We started with the lemon calamari and it was incredible the creamy lemon sauce was so light and the perfect amount of citrus. We had the special (lamb rigatoni) and the vodka rigatoni. Everything was delicious our waitress was so kind and told us all her recommendations. Finally we finished... View all feedback.
What bushra doesn't like about Trattoria Da Luigi:
Hello beautiful people, save yourself the hassle. I can’t even give the food one star. I not only did we wait over an hour for my food, but the service was awful. The food came out less than lukewarm after our long wait. Nobody tried to correct the situation. Pastaio, up the street is fantastic! And 100 times better! View all feedback.
If you want authentic Italian food, exactly like you'd find in Italy, you go here. End of discussion. It's excellent every time.
Very disappointed. I had the staff recommend a steak and it was absolutely terrible after waiting quite a while and it was just me eating it and I've had excellent meals there in the past. All I would have to say is I most likely ordered the worst thing on the menu and my recommendation is to take the steak off the menu and just replace it with some other amazing steak but this is terrible
This place just isn’t it. This place has been a disaster on both occasions I attempted to give them my business. Drove all the way from Bloomfield to Royal Oak, for me upon arrival to be told that they didn’t have one of the two entrees that I ordered?I drove All. The. Way. There….I am not joking. There are many alternative tasteful and upscale Italian restaurants to enjoy and indulge in. This place tries so hard to be good, yet doesn’t do the bare minimum? If you don’t have a item that somebody placed an order for- within 10 minutes TOPS the paying customer should be notified that they are out of stock.Twice this happened? No thank you.Update- the owner obviously has no emotional control- as you can see the petty response months later below (absolutely dissapointing). Wow. How bizzare (I did not order gnocchi- I have a gluten intolerance)…must’ve got me confused with a different unhappy customer (yikes). Contrary to your false allegation- this sir, is the only review I have left. You can only leave one post per establishment- per community guidelines. Alternatively, I am glad you responded so many months later; now more people will see the truth.Instead of throwing a temper tantrum that your business did not provide quality service, how about you just accept that you have a negative review and do your very best to do better. A positive or kind response would have served you greatly. #YouNeverKnowWhoYouAreServing. When in doubt- be kind! <3
I don 't think these guys are going to last unfortunately. The food is okay but nothing great. The restaurant is very small, but very over the top old world Italian looking. The service was great. The people working there were absolutely great! I am truly hoping they will take a deep hard look at their menu and look at other high end Italian places and see what they can add and take away from their menu to bring themselves on par with other authentic Italian restaurants in the price range they are charging. Just because they broke the meals up into different courses so the price looks less than it really is doesn 't change the fact that when you add the courses up you are competing with high end restaurants that quite frankly blow them away when it comes to the cuisine being served. I hope they fix this before they lose all their customers. I 'd really like to see them succeed.
Wonderful meal. I had the lobster ravioli which were melt-in-your-mouth great. We had a party of 12, everyone was pleased and the plates all looked terrific.
