Both our meals were outstanding! I had the blackened salmon with asparagus over wild rice which had a lovely light tomato sauce. My husband had a chicken pasta dish. Prior, he enjoyed a side salad while I selected the Caesar salad, which I was grateful was not drenched in dressing but just right. It was beautiful outside so we selected outdoor dining. What Edjdetroit doesn't like about D'amato's:
I did not appreciate being sat in the back room of the restaurant when there were several tables seemingly empty in the main room. While I was told they were “reserved” I don't recall a prompt in the Open Table app to allow me to select a specific table. Needs a remodel but, the appetizers were good the pizza was very greasy and the wine was good. All and all I give them an average grade I didn't try any entry. Lately I have been disappointed with dining out it seems you never get great food for your money anymore. Perhaps it's the times we live in.....
We are new to the area and saw this restaurant on Open Table. Our server was amazing and attentive. Food came out promptly and we loved everything we ordered! Manhattan also an A-plus!
Our waitress was super friendly attentive. She went out of her way to help my 15 year old daughter with who wanted a sweet iced coffee drink of sorts. Very much appreciated her! The food was delicious, the energy was great. Will definitely be back
I hosted my daughter’s bridal shower at D’Amato’s and it was fabulous! Tony was extremely helpful when we were in the planning stages. The day of the shower ran so smoothly and we received so many compliments on how wonderful it was. The food was great and the portions were huge. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend D’Amato’s if you are planning a shower or other special event.
We tried coming here for lunch on Mother’s Day (without a reservation. I know, stupid) and the hostess was not friendly whatsoever. We had our baby in a stroller next to the stand and as she walks up, she points to the stroller “yeah… can we get this out of here?” no “hi! how are you?” “happy mother’s day!”. It left a sour taste in our mouth and we just felt like a burden. We love the food but it’ll be awhile before we come back now. I’m sure they’ve had an incredibly busy day, but as a mom to a young baby, I was looking forward to going out, not to be made to feel that i’m annoying.
