The smell of fresh bread is powerful as soon as you walk in the first set of doors. The setup is great, with ceiling to floor glass showcases to model all the fabulous breads offered. There is a nice patio for outdoor gatherings with plenty of space. There are sandwiches, breads by the loaf, sweet treats for here or to go. Tried the ham and cheese croissant, the meat was piled on thick and was toasted to perfection. T... View all feedback.
What Elizabeth Smith doesn't like about Crispelli's Bakery:
I really wanted to like this bakery, but the pastries and bread are very disappointing. To start, the pain au chocolat has powdered sugar on it (first time I’ve ever seen that); the pastries are coated with unnecessary icing; and the bread is very basic. The chai latte is too spicy. The coffee is good however. The cakes look good but haven’t tried them yet. View all feedback.
I absolutely adore the fresh bread and rolls at Bread by Crispelli’s. The service is outstanding, especially considering the challenges of the pandemic. The desserts are absolutely tempting! This summer, they created a special cake for me upon request: a lemon cake with lemon curd, buttercream frosting, and fresh fruit on top. It was both gorgeous and delicious—perfect for the summer!
Absolutely fantastic! I used to walk by this place often but never stopped in. I finally visited with a friend who recommended it, and I was NOT disappointed! He suggested trying the cinnamon rolls (I ended up getting two) and I added a cherry Danish on top. The cinnamon roll had a unique twist compared to what I’m used to, but in a delightful way. It had a slightly crispy edge and a flaky texture. The service was excellent as well, and I can’t wait to go back and try more treats! A+.
The restaurant features a lovely design with impressive attention to detail. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is very welcoming. There's ample parking space available, which is a real advantage in the bustling downtown Royal Oak area. So far, we've only sampled the coffee, and it was quite good.
Iris and staff are so nice. They keep the place clean and are following the CDC guidelines. They donated about six big bags of bread and pastries to the food pantry and all were appreciated. Of course, I tried one pastry and it was delicious. Thank you so much for the donation.
Amazing selection of bread and the interior decoratoration is on point! We got the tomato mozzarella sandwich, and chocolate croissant. The sandwich ingredients were fresh but I don't think I'd spend $10 on that again. The croissant was good but would have been better if it was warmer and flakier. Also, got a spinach-feta pull bread and we asked for it to be warmed up, it was really good! Finally, took home some brioche buns and marbled rye bread, which family really enjoyed. The brioche buns were great for burgers. Best of all, everyone was friendly!
