I had such a lovely time here. The fried green tomatoes with shrimp and pimento were delicious. I was so full that I didn?t get to my ribeye. As a person eating alone, I felt very comfortable. Honestly, if you?re on a road trip and you pass through Roxboro, eat here. If you want a fine dining experience in Roxboro with a Southern slant, eat here. Like Martha Stewart, I don?t take great food photos, and I forgot the r... View all feedback.
What Lambert Kub doesn't like about Depot Southern Bistro Llc:
The atmosphere was nice and our waitress Lexy was very attentive, not surprising since we were the only party in the restaurant. It took us a while to get our food, but when it arrived, the ribeye I had ordered was prepared well done rather then medium and tasted burnt. I sent the steak back and listened as the woman at the grill berated me for not knowing the difference between medium and medium rare. She didn't rea... View all feedback.
The food and service were excellent at this restaurant. The atmosphere was very pleasant and it is definitely a hidden gem. I would rate the food 5 out of 5.
I’m not one who usually writes reviews but felt the need to after eating dinner here. I ate lunch here last year and it was really good, so I had high expectations again. We were one of the first ones in, yet still waited for what seemed like over 30 minutes for our food, even with there only being 1-2 other seated tables at the time. When we got our food, it wasn’t entirely what we had ordered. My husband didn’t realize at first since the meal he was given seemed similar to what he had actually ordered. I ordered a dish that had risotto but got plain rice instead. When I asked about the missing risotto, I was told yes that’s the rice. Small thing, but if you don’t have something, at least notify the customer. My husband’s meal had seafood, and the scallop was undercooked. When we got our check, this is when we realized my husband’s meal was wrong. The prices we were charged for on the check were different from what was on the menu. They tried charging us for it $38 vs the $26 for what was actually ordered) and also up charged the salmon/risotto order $2 more than what was on the menu. It took some time to fix the $12 mistake seemed as if the cook/manager wasn’t willing to fix it), but when asked about the $2 extra for the other meal having proof of the price on the menu) the cook/manager said there was nothing they could do about it even though they had just corrected the same thing for the other meal).Overall, food was good and cocktail was just okay. Our waiter was young and seemed new but was nice and seemed like he was really trying to learn and do his job. I know these might be small mishaps, but with one on top of the other, it’s the principle behind the cook/manager not correcting their mistakes, hence feeling the need to write this review. Definitely wasn’t worth the $75 we paid.
One of the best meals I've had in a long time, ty too the cook, she has a hand to make everything taste perfect, a restaurant I will be going to for a long while, God bless this restaurant!!!!!!!!?
I ordered an $8 bowl of beer cheese soup to take away. It was tasty, but I'm not sure if it was worth $8. The interior of the restaurant is very nice. Overall, I give the food a rating of 5 out of 5.
I visited this restaurant on a Tuesday evening and it seems to be a family-run operation, with the mother cooking and the daughter managing the bar and front of the house. They were both very friendly. The food was delicious. I opted for the pork loin chops and chose to have their mushroom risotto instead of mashed potatoes. I would definitely return to this place.
