Bf and I discovered this place on Yelp and have revisited several times. It is located inside the building towards the center rear. We have tried the house special beef brisket noodle soup, salted shredded chicken, poached chicken, beef bitter melon, beef chow fun, yang chow fried rice, Chinese broccoli with dried fish, fish w/black bean sauce, and crispy garlic ribs. Everything here tastes great, especially if you d... View all feedback.
What Rob D doesn't like about Tài Píng Shā Cái Jì:
Came to this place with high hopes of Cantonese essentials beef brisket noodle soup, wonton noodle soup, beef innards (tripe), and har fun (stir fried beef and rice noodles. Unfortunately the taste was subpar. An unusual amount of white pepper behind all dishes and under seasoned otherwise. Broth was lacking in richness. On the bright side, noodle texture was decent. If there's zero star this place deserves that. There was only 1 table when we went in. There were only 1 waiter taking order on a Sunday dinner time. After telling her we needed several minutes, she never came back. After waving and asking the waitress to come to our table, she purposely did other stuff and not taking our order. Then another table of 2 came in, and she went to take their order!!! Then she went back to the counter to take the bills for the to go order! We have never been to a restaurant with such a horrible services. Viewers of YELP, stay away from this hell place. We should have known when we went in and there was only 1 table on a Sunday dinner time. No matter how other reviews said about the food, if you cannot place the order, no point of discussing about the food. Also, they serve the food in PAPER PLATE!!
This place is super Hong Kong. The first generation would appreciate it more this is not the Hong Kong style Cafe everything looks super authentic. It's not for everybody, however both my parents love it and they were super excited. Most of the food are carb heavy and those food are very popular for the working class in Hong Kong. Nothing fancy it just tastes good and it will fill you up with a reasonable price.

Good old school canto food! We got the salted shredded chicken, beef chowfun, egg pancake with oysters, and clay pot with preserved meat. Everything was quite tasty, especially the salted shredded chicken. Will be back for that one in particular.
Food r delicious n prices r fair. It's not a huge portion but enough for most ppl. Appetizers r delicious as well. If you r someone who can't stand the heat, I recommend going there when weather cools down. There is no ac in there! It's in a dead plaza so no AC! They do provide fans for you but it's not enough when u r eating hot noodle soup. I sweated pretty much the equivalent to a whole bowl of soup. If you can handle the heat, go visit. I highly recommended it.
