We ordered three dishes:
1. Grilled chicken - The server informed us that it would take about 20-25 minutes to be ready, and it arrived right on time. The portion was enough for two, and it was flavorful, tasty, and filling.
2. Bacon and potato pizza - They offer fresh mozzarella to add on top, and we enjoyed eating the pizza with a spoon. I'd rate it a 9 out of 10; I definitely wanted more.
3. Bulgogi lunch bo... View all feedback.
What Anne Sanchez doesn't like about Shakalaka:
This restaurant is situated in a spacious plaza with ample free parking. I decided to give it a try after seeing some appealing pictures, but upon arrival, we were handed a paper menu. Initially, I thought it was just the appetizer menu. When I inquired about the regular menu, they informed us that they no longer serve any of the dishes we were hoping to try. We ordered a selection of seafood and meat skewers, grilled scallops with glass noodles, spicy crawfish, marinated pork feet, and steamed pork dumplings. To my surprise, the food was delicious, and I was quite impressed by the flavors. The portion sizes and prices were reasonable as well. One downside was that service was incredibly slow for a while, resulting in many orders being delayed for an extended period. A number of diners became frustrated and canceled their orders. Fortunately, once that issue was resolved, the food started coming out much faster, and the service improved significantly. This restaurant stays open until 2 AM every day, which is great for those of us looking for late-night food and beer in the area!

Initially, I thought it was just the appetizer menu. When I inquired about the regular menu, they informed us that they no longer serve any of the dishes we were hoping to try. We were a bit disappointed, as we were looking forward to sampling more Korean cuisine. Since we were already seated, we decided to order a few items from the limited options available. If you're planning to visit for their fried chicken or Korean grilled dishes, be aware that those are no longer offered, possibly due to a change in management.
I am currently enjoying my meal, and it's fantastic! I will definitely come back again.
If it takes 30 minutes to get your 10 skewers then Come and support this place. I asked the staff kindly why after 30 minutes you cant bring out my 10 skewers. 10..... they said some party ordered 100.. so cant you bring me my 10??? Why do I have to wait for their 100 to finish cooking?? I gotta eat too.. price is cheap but time is money. Failed logic. Never coming back
Not sure why the page I'm looking at for Shakalaka says CLOSED. We ate here not too many days ago. But it looks like the menu offering changed? Lots of meats on a stick. Lamb, lamb rib, chicken, pork belly, even bacon wrapped enoki. Quite tasty. Well, it might be too salty and too seasoned for some people. Part of the slogan on the wall mentions the word pub. So maybe drinking will help cut the saltiness. But the blend they used to season each skewer is quite unique. Not just savory, but spice, pepper, acrid, aromatic. I really like it. Mostly the chicken and the lamb. So-so dishes we had included oysters and scallops. Not satisfying. I think the scallops could use more sear. Served in a shell, not a skewer. The fried calamari is lighter seasoned fare. But crisp, and tasty. Jellyfish was super salty!!! Was expecting it to be mellow, a bit sour, like a Taiwanese dish. Ambiance is nice. Friendly casual.
