Lowake Steak House

Lowake Steak House
4.3 / 5 (1149 reviews)

Description

Lowake Steak House offers a mixed experience. Many praise its expertly prepared, flavorful steaks—especially the Bone-In Ribeye and KC Steak—and appreciate the lively, family-friendly atmosphere. However, some guests find the sides and salad bar underwhelming, noting limited variety and freshness. Service quality varies, with reports ranging from attentive and professional to unresponsive and rude. Noise levels can hinder conversation, and parking is occasionally inconvenient. While longtime fans swear by its quality and value, several diners express disappointment with inconsistent cooking and pricing. Overall, Lowake remains a sought-after Texas steakhouse worth trying, but expectations should be managed.

What a steak house should be. Rustic, simple, and classic. None of the nonesense gimmicks you find in chain steak houses. Ordered the sirloin and it was perfectly cooked medium. I wish other steak houses had salad bars like this place. It's nothing fancy, but a simple salad with quality ingredients is the icing on the cake. The server was very attentive. My only complaints are the fried pickles are enough for 6 people and I could only eat half of their smallest steak. I'm not a big person. I'm coming back next time I'm in the area. How is it that I can get great steak at Steak Express for under $30, but get the toughest, most flavorless sirloin for over $80 at Lowake??? And the salad bar!?? CLEAN IT! Geezzzzz. Last Saturday was the “let’s give it one more try,” but that’s it. Waste of money. We ordered the sirloin tough and flavorless. My sister in law ordered a KC for two more gristle than meat, too chewy, and not cooked to order. The steak fingered looked refried, and the chicken breast was dry. It’s not even a shame. It’s disgusting to cheat people out of so much money. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

I have to apologize to my waitress Rayn for asking to get me some A1 sauce, steak cooked right doesn't need it. Nothing I ordered disappointed me and did quite the opposite. Had their Fried Pickles, Filet Mignon, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and beans. This place is now added to my top 5 steakhouses in Texas. Can't wait to stop again and explore more of the menu.
