Coming from Melbourne, I'm not used to experiencing so many Cafes closing by 2pm. At the Stockland shopping centre near Gladstone airport, I found an interesting strip of outdoor eateries. Guzman Y Gomez had plenty of customers so I took that as a positive guide. Serving staff (Andrea?) was especially friendly and helpful, as I'd never tasted Mexican food before. I had a mixed experience at this restaurant. The woman serving me seemed confused about the ingredients in a burrito and mistakenly gave me the wrong order twice. After speaking with someone who spoke English, they corrected the mistake and even gave me a free burrito and a discount card. If you are after Mexican food in Gladdy, this is the place to go! Plenty of variety on the menu. Delicious food and friendly service. We got take out and didn't wait long at all for our food.

It was 3pm, and I was getting a little hungry (didn't have lunch). Of all the restaurant selections at this centre, GYG appeared the most inviting. I chose well. The service was terrific. The server was the most bubbly and happy person in the building!
