Bar Restaurant La Terrasse - Rouffiac

The previous reviews made me cautious, but our experience was good. There are only two food options in the town, and the alternative cafe - which is in the old village- was closed. The terrace has seating inside and out; we chose inside as the little cover outside does not protect the diners from the heat. There was a little breeze, without which it would be oven-like on a hot day.The food was very reasonable and well presented - we paid 74 euros for 4, which included 4 soft drinks. It has a small bar area in a cool spot should you want a drink and a chance to rest, but this has no view, and the views from the restaurant are excellent

It was a very hot day, too hot for the terrace, and no AC indoors. Lunch was not great and service, while friendly was not very attentive. Our cooling rose arrived almost at the end of our meal.

We were hungry when we arrived in Penne. It was 1.45pm. So we decided to try lunch here. I wished we hadn't! The chef was umming and arring about whether he could bother cooking for us..we were then told yes, but only if you have a brochette de boeuf or a salad. Great we sat and sat down in the nearly empty restaurant.It was full of flies. They were everywhere. The place felt as if it needed a good clean but it was too late to escape. A basket of bread and bottle of water had been plonked down before us..The brochettes were quite tasty, though very tough meat. The sauté potatoes tasted as if they must have been warmed up several times. Awful!! I didn't eat them.So we ate as much beef as we could get down, drank our glass of mediocre house wine and left as soon as we could. It wasn't a pleasant experience although Penne was well worth a visit. Shame there's nowhere else to eat in October. I'd advise taking a picnic.

Stopped for a coffee on a wet walking day and were warmly welcomed. We didn't eat as we had a picnic lunch and didn't know the restaurant would be open, but we were made to feel welcome anyway.Coffee was excellent and would have liked to stay for lunch as well.

Great location with a fantastic view of the Chateaux. Friendly staff and a good selection of simple food. Good local wines and a selection of beer. When the sun shines the outside tables are great. Worth a visit dog (and cat) friendly.
